Bit malty aroma. Hint of metal, bit skunky. Malty taste with hardly any hopbitterness. Some fruitiness and vegetables. Nothing special.

This is like a Wernesgruner, but it doesn’t have the fine aroma of the aforementioned. A decent lager. Crisp, light malt, not too hoppy. Bitter finish. Ultimately refreshing on a hot summer day.

It’s a fizzy, bitter beer. Not much taste to it.

I remember this beer as a kid and their constant TV commericals: ’Here’s to good friends, tonight is kind of special. The beer will pour, tonight is something more. Tonight, tonight, let it be Lowenbrau’. Fairly decent macro-import brew. Fairly mellow in overall taste, leaning towards vegetal hop notes.

It’s actually not that bad, I don’t drink it often though as it has a certain strange metallic taste to it. I feel like I could always pick this stuff out in a blind taste test, at least if I knew it would be one of the samples. When did they start making it in Germany again? I remember it being contract brewed in the US by Miller.

Quite nice beer. A very cool and elegant label. One of my favorite German mainstream lagers.

Hoppy aroma upon opening, with some other sourish aroma that I can’t put my finger on. giving way to a moderate, bubbly head upon pouring. Though not especially tall, the head had a nice wispy, cloudlike shape. Upon drinking, there was a sour taste with the hops coming through at times. Very sweet, but a bid odd as well. Now I’ve got it--the aroma seems to be similar to urine, though I can’t say I know if the sour taste is of the urine variety as well. I’m not likely to test _that_ one out! There are some things I like about this beer, but the sweetness and the oddness in the smell and taste are too much to overcome.

it might just be my fetish for German lgers, but this beer is up there with the best lagers the world has to offer. Despite its mass-marketing, lowenbrau original has not comprimised on a crisp bitterness, tight hoppyness throughout, and simply a beautiful colour and head in the glass

Ahhhh.... gemutlichkeit! A nice semi-sweet beer that finishes pretty clean on the palate. Aftertaste is sweet and smooth. This beer has obviously been altered a bit for the american market, but still very german in it’s makeup. A non-expensive way of drinking a decent, well made import. You can spend a lot more and taste a lot worse! Good stuff!

golden straw colour, pours with big head, very hoppy/grassy aroma. clean finish
