Had this from a keg at a festival. I see decent reviews here & I wonder if they mixed up the keg, 'cause this stuff was bad. Smelled like, well, Ballantine Ale, but it wasn't as drinkable. Stuck to my mouth the way Bud does. Flavor was deficient of hops, and it finished on such a sour note that I had to dump it in the bushes. Makes me wonder if the rumors I once heard about this beer are actually true...

Malty, with a little hop ending. Not the pick of the litter, but drinkable. MUCH better than back when Miller brewed it.

A good example of what a german brewer can make on a large scale. This is a delicate little lager with a full body, some sweetness and a pungeant hop finish. It finishes rather dry.

Always liked the original Lowenbrau. Reminds me of many childhood parties. Smooth crsip and much more tasty than a typical American beer. I would choose this beer amongst many others in a taste test I am sure.

On Tap: This brew poured a medium head of finly sized mostly lasting white bubbles that left a good lacing and a very softly carbonated straw yellow colored body. It had a medium malt-hop aroma and a malt -hop flavor to go along with it. There was just a slight bite in its tingly mouthfeel in the finish.

Golden Helles lager with a slightly sweet, malty, finish. Mild hops with little bitterness. Finishes quite smooth. A decent beer from the Dortmunder style, though it's a bit week. Not really bad, but not great.

This is my first try of this beer since Miller used to brew it. Overall, it now seems like a slighty better than average Continential Lager. Not as tasty as a true Dortmunder. Drinkable, perhaps, but nothing to fight over.

Remember Nationsl Lampoons Vacation? Christie Brinkley had one of these in her hand while flirting with Chevy Chase from a distance. That scene always makes me thirsty for one of these babies. This is an easy drinker. IF you're not careful, you may end up on your ass because of these. A good warm weather beer due to the fact it tastes like water. Hint of hops with a nice mellow finish. The bottle is cool as well.

Very, VERY! drinkable, getting lost on them is too easy, smooth with a hint of bitters and nice easy finish, super beer at a super price (in Germany) Im not sure how the bottled exports measure up (tap rules)

This Dortmunder lager pours a clear, golden color with a small, white head that dissipates entirely. It has a very faint aroma of sweet malts with just a hint of hops. It has a light body with a smooth mouthfeel. The flavor is malty sweet up front with a medium long, sweet finish. The carbonation level is medium. A decent, drinkable lager, nothing more and nothing less.
