3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 frankenkitty (1958) - Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA - FEB 3, 2006
Well, it figures that I’d eventually have to follow TheBeerLover... he’s a tough act to follow. Tonight, tonight I let it be Löwenbräu and I wasn’t too disappointed. Pours golden and brilliant in my Svyturys Lager glass, with persistent efferevescence and a holding white head. Aroma finds powdery perfumes as if your mom’s bridge club just cleared out of the VFW. Additional grassy notes with sweetbread grains and a lagered persona. Mid-bodied with a crisp finish, this beer has a sweet start, stable center and light hopped finish. All in all it’s a refreshing beer, better suited for warmer weather.
For a pleasant beer, my numbers may not be as high as BeerLover’s, but I rate to personal preference rather than "to style" as do most RateBeerians and as the <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/FAQ.asp>RateBee FAQ suggests.

4.8 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 TheBeerLover (1019) - DC Metro Area, USA - JAN 28, 2006
Lowenbrau Original pours to a beautiful, bright, pale golden color with a thick white head, and a good bit of carbonation. The nose on this beer is wonderful with lots of good, crisp, pale and pilsner malt aroma. The palate on this beer is crisp and clean with lots of good pale and pilsner malt on a very smooth and polished body. Lowenbrau Orignial finishes with more crisp malt character up front, and then is balanced to perfection with just the right amount of grassy/herbal hop bitterness.
A flawless example of helles, balance of malt and hop character truly defines this beer. One might think its straight forward character makes it a simple beer, but any brewer of beer lover will tell you, it is no easy task to brew a flawless lager. There is no where for the aromas and flavors "to hide" so to speak. The aromas and flavors can not be masked in a beer like this, so if there is a flaw, you will be able to smell and taste it. Lowenbrau Original is a fantastic example of the science and art of brewing, and it is a wonderful experience to try this one at the Lowenbraukeller, though you can also enjoy it here in the US, on draught and in bottles.
2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 GG (1980) - NorCal, California, USA - JAN 27, 2006
Emjoying this one out of my friend’s Dad’s stash, I had to say for free it was a good beer, much better than expected. Easy to drink and a nice flavor. Not much else, but perhaps watching a video of David Chappelle made this better than it really was."

Bottle; pale yellow with head that disappears quickly; smell of hops and a little sweet, probably because the beer was older; tase of hops, then followed by sweet (caramel) and a little bitterness.
1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 Quevillon (2014) - Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec, CANADA - JAN 22, 2006
Ce n’est pas mauvais, mais pas ma préféré de ce pays (mieux que la Beck’s). Mais je devrais esseiller celle de L’Amère à Boire, Montréal Hell.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 kwik-lime (654) - London, ENGLAND - JAN 15, 2006
Decent pils, not as full-bodied as it might ben but fine for something so heavily mass produced
0.9 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 1/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 3/20 Likeburning (149) - Franklin, Tennessee, USA - JAN 13, 2006
Poured clear and yellow like a pale lager with very little head. I did not like the metallic taste and sourness that accompanied the aforementioned. Very dry and tasted like a much cheaper beer.
1.8 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 9/20 drakulon (4) - Lancaster, Ohio, USA - JAN 7, 2006 does not count
Skunky smell after opening it, taste contains some of that same skunk. Really light tasting beer, little in the way of actual body to it. Sourness as it hits the back of the throat, more of a palette-cleansing beer than anything truly enjoyable.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 oldrtybastrd (3229) - Morlautern, Germany/Great Falls, Montana, USA - JAN 5, 2006
Pours a pale golden yellow color. Aromas of light hops and malt. Flavor is malt and mild hops, more malty at the start and finishes with dry hop.
2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Panzerfaust (509) - Hanga Roa, Easter Island, CHILE - JAN 3, 2006
Very clear, yellow lager, filtered, with a normal white and quick head. Aroma is rich in malt, with a citric touch of lime, wood and fresh grains. Flavor is sweeter than most lagers with a slightly sour mouthfeel and a bittersweet finish. Refreshing. A little lacking body but a good brew.
