3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle pours a very transparent pale straw color. Head is white and frothy. Light carbonation. Slight aroma of grass/grain. Initial taste is about the same, very light and a tad sweet. Finish is a bit malty but thin. For such a mass produced beer, the lacing is fairly sticky. This is a very easy drinking Helles, definately not the most flavorful, but its not bad. Label boasts "Imported from Munich Germany" so perhaps this one is not exactly like the Miller version. I wouldn't turn it down if this one was offered to me.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
For almost 20 years this stuff was made under license by Miller Brewing here in Milwaukee. It was the only beer to come out of Miller that deserved an "excellent" rating.
I don't like this as much as Millers version. Can you believe it? Such a sucky brewer like Miller actually did this one right.
This version is pretty good, but it's hard to get one that's not too skunky. Get a fresh one and you'll find it to have a nice aroma, light but full head, and a good bitter, but not "too" bitter, aftertaste. Try it. But smell it first. I've gotten a lot of them that were pure skunk right off the delivery truck. I complained to the brewer via email and was pretty much told to drop dead. No kidding.
Anyway, Millers version would have gotten 4 stars from me. This one gets 3.

2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
I don't know what the deal is, but I could only taste alcohol at first. I was excited for this but it was nothing too different from the usual. Taste reminds me of malt liquor.

2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: FEB 2, 2004 Light gold colour, with a meduim head. A pleasent summer drink with some grassy overtones... a step up from Becks.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Pours a light gold with no head. Aroma is minimal with a little skunkiness. Thin mouthfeel. Very little hop character. Rather boring. But if you drink it ice cold at a party it would probably be fine.

2.1 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Had this in a green bottle, however, I didn't detect any skunkiness in the aroma. Not a remarkable beer, yet it is a clean lager, light bodied and easy to drink. Slightly metalic finish along with some light bitterness.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Clear golden color, white head. Sweet malt aroma, some grassy hops. Similar flavor profile. Lighter body, finishes crisp with a little lingering bitterness. Not bad for how available it is, but beware the green bottle.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Clear gold, OK head.
Aroma is malty, a fair bit of honey and some diacetyl.
Flavour is lightly malty, with a fair bit of hop flavour. A bit hoppy for a Helles but still OK.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Light, golden beer with a very mild flavour but a nice hoppy backend.
One of the better beers I have had lately, and it goes down very well when the thermometer sits on over 40C. Pretty good I found. Cheers folks
