BOBANDDOUG's rating

BOBANDDOUG (61) - Belleville, Illinois, USA - JAN 30, 2008
Poured from a bottle, darker than normal yellow, white head, typical of macro-lagers. Haven’t had one of these since the early 1908’s, when Miller owned them. Didn’t know what to expect. Aroma: Light citrus, and, yes, hops! Taste: Light, detectable malt, and a hoppy finsh. Not a head bursting hop hit, but, yes, you can taste them in there. Finishes nice, clean, and refreshing. This is a really decent session beer. I enjoyed this a bunch!

A bit sweet

A good German pils.

Appearance: clear pale gold with one finger of fine white head diminishing rapidly to a thin cap, patchy lacing. (3/5) Aroma: grassy, grainy pale malt, slight metallic. (5/10) Taste: moderate sweet, mild bitter. (5/10) Palate: light body, moderate carbonation, crisp off-dry lightly bitter finish. (3/5) I’ve become convinced that putting “Premium” on the label is an in-joke amongst brewers. “Man, this is shit. Better slap a ‘Premium’ label on there!” OK, OK, I’m being a little unfair - it’s not complete shit. But it’s not great, either. (10/20)

Grass, good white head not persistant, golden, light body, law/medium carbonation, taste is sweet, hints of grass and honey, light bitterness in the final...taste is german, the only good thing.

0,5l can. Clear pale yellow colour with very quickly disappearing white head. Aroma: grass, alcohol. Taste: Like water with a hint of sweet/sour taste. In the finish finally I can feel some light bitternes. Medium carbonation with light body.

500ml can in a pint glass. Pours clear golden with a white head. Has a metallic sent. Tastes of grass and grains with a slight metallic finish. Not a bad beer, but not a great beer.

Bottle from local off licence, great Barr. Golden beer with small head. Aroma is light floral and grassy malts. Taste is floral, grass, herbal and a little sweet bread. Better than I thought. Quite good.

I don’t know... It has the taste of German but not as good as its siblings.

500 ml can.
Pours piss yellow with a big white frothy head. Aroma is sweet with some grassy/herbal notes, faint hops. Sweet malty taste with some herbal/noble hop bitterness. Medium body, surprisingly soft carbonation, crisp. Dry, slightly bitter after taste.
Ok, but a bit too sweet.
