Not much to brag about here. Some malt sweetness and corn evident in the taste and aroma, with some sulfurous notes in the aroma as well. Crystal clear, pale, gold colour. An after taste that is sweet and forgettable.

Löwenbräu is brewed under the famous Bavarian Purity Laws. This should mean that this beer is full of natural flavours, crisp and clear and fully balanced with its taste, a quality assured product from Germany. A place where a well crafted beer is expected and anything less is simply not tolerated by the locals. The appearance was of a gorgeous golden yellow colour that had a very good head and great lacing. Looked so good I couldn’t wait to begin drinking the beauty! Found a faint aroma, smelt mostly of what a normal smelling lager should be like, malty and refreshing. Was a lovely tasting drink that had no strong flavours or bitter aftertaste to it, just an awfully good session drink. A clean, crisp, smooth and well balanced beer, Löwenbräu was really easy to enjoy. A good pure Deutsche lager. Refreshing.

500ml can, thanks to djoeye. Slowly fading, chalk white head to a crystal clear, yellow-gold coloured body. Modest hints of earthy malts and grass on the nose. Taste of lightly dried fruits, grass and bread-like malts beneath. Distant bittersweet endnotes. Medium bodied. Clean and soft on the swallow. Satisfying match to our prawns food (Shared with Frau Eva, Tromsø 13.06.2014).

The bright blue can lured me in. It pretty much felt like a pilsener to me. Smelt of grass, and herbs. Tastes of grass, hay, maybe a little spice. Had a pretty watery mouth feel and some fizziness to it. Not very memorable in my opinion.

Reviewed from notes. I’ve had this more than enough times in my life to say something about it. Every time I’ve had this, it was poured into a pilsener. The appearance was a nice golden yellow with a decent haziness about it, but still allowing a light transparency about it. There was a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than thirty seconds and left some light lacing. The smell had a nice bready herbal earthiness about it and letting some German yeastiness invade the nose fairly well. The taste was fairly sweet yet bready and allowed a decent sweet aftertaste that led to a dry finish. On the palate, it sat about a light to medium and showed a decent sessionable quality about it. Overall, I say this was a decent Munich Helles Lager worthy of coming back to.
