UPDATED: MAY 16, 2011 Vom Fass at the Loewenbraeu in Muenchen during Starkbierzeit. It is a nice, easy drinker of a doppelbock, it went down smoothly with Schweinhaxe.

muffel (119) - Lower Saxony, GERMANY - FEB 19, 2011
Bottle 500ml. Pours a dark brown/amber color with a small head that disappears quickly. Low carbonation. Sweet roasted aroma. Somewhat bittersweet malty taste with an alcoholic, warming aftertaste that gets stronger when it gets warmer (sweetness disappears a bit at the same time). A bit strong, but a nice Doppelbock.

Bottle from Carringtons, Chorlton. Darkish reddy brown pour with a medium tan head. Sweetish bready malts, dark fruit and a hint of booze in the nose. Similar story in the malt driven flavour. Alcohol pretty well masked. Much better than anticipated, and a well above average example of the style

Nice amber colour with a light head. Aroma of malt, roasted nuts and cookies. :) The taste begins with strong sweetness which becomes less intensive later. Ican recommend this beer to all fans of bock and doppelbock-type beers.

A nice roasted sweet aroma, smilar to a Belgian dubbel. Brown-amber with an off-white head that settles to a whisp. Sweet and roasty flavor with alcohol notes.
