2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 BlackHaddock (1709) - Shropshire, ENGLAND - APR 4, 2012
International Green Week, Berlin 2012: our second day and Hall 22b is where I came across the bar from Passau: I had two of the beers on offer, this one on-tap, the Lowen Bock bottled.
0.3 Litre in a lovely glass: Pale yellow, clear golden body, clean and bright looking beer. The usual white crown; stayed a while before turning into a collar and wisp. Looked like your typical Pilsner/Helles/Lager.
Grainy smell, hints of malt and hop grass like aromas.
The taste was again the usual tangy, thirst quenching experience you come to expect from a well made beer of this style. No huge block-buster flavours but a refreshing blend of light malts and hops.
Body depth and feel were fine for the type of beer it is: nothing bad about the beer at all, no world beater, but overall, fine.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 pivnizub (7240) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - OCT 4, 2011
Bottle: Pale greenish-golden, mid-sized lasting fluffy white head, grassy-hoppy nose with a sweet pale-malty counterpart; light to moderate bitter-sweet flavour, light bodied, a bit sticky; slightly lingering delicate bitter and malty finish. Nothing wrong with it.....
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 MoritzF (7402) - Bochum, GERMANY - AUG 31, 2011
(bottle, 33cl) Clear, pale golden colour with a blond medium-sized foamy head. Slightly grainy pale malty aroma with a shy papery touch and a tinge of grassy and herbal hops. Moderately bitter flavour, light bodied with a crisp mouthfeel. Slim pale malt-character with hints of cardboard and herbal, also slightly grassy hops, especially towards the slim and mildly bitter-sweet finish. Not that convincing. 22.VIII.11
