Pours a murky brown color with a medium beige head. Interesting aroma and flavor of caramel, chocolate, malt and yeast. The body is medium with a creamy texture and gentle carbonation. Interesting but it doesn’t have the complexity of the great belgian ABTs like St.Bernardus, Rochefort and Westvleteren.

Courtesy SoLan. Pours a dark reddish brown, with a well retained light tan head. Very thick, rich malty sweet smell. Dark fruit and berries with touches of alcohol dominate the nose. Taste is pretty big and sweet. Alcohol is well represented. Thick molasses, dark sweet fruits and malts, and a slight bitterness sum up the flavors. Tastes like a typical quad. Not bad, but maybe a little too bitter in its sweetness.

Bottle from PP Belgian Beer Fest. Dark fruity in the aromas. More raisin and cramel in the flavor. Some alcohol mingled in with this sweet malty brew.

PP 12-hour Belgian Beer Festival...Pours with a cloudy amber body topped by a medium thick, off-white head with a good amount of lacing. It’s malty with a hint of fuity esters and a slight spiciness. Medium bodied, numbing on the tongue and a touch dry.

Beautiful red copper and a huge, golden head. The aroma has notes of candy sugar, malt, plum and a hint of alcohol. The flavour has notes of roasted malt, sweetness, caramel, candy sugar, nuts, plum, nutmeg and the finish is slightly citrussy. 1943

I have never experienced an abt/quad that was this wretched. It shouldn’t be age, why would this style fall this bad. Bad bottle? Pours deep bronze with a frothy tan head. The aroma has biscuit, toffee, caramel - thick and rich. It seems to have a butterscotch diacetyl-like aroma. Why would a bottle conditioned quad have this? It comes off smelling more like a doppelbock than a quad. Medium body with some sharp carbonation - far far too light bodied for the style. The taste starts sour and medicinal with butterscotch and toffee. The finish is metallic and sharp. I’m not sure how this is justified in being called a quad - I detected no Belgium yeast, malt was more German-esque, it was thin, etc. If you want a mediocre-at-best doppelbock you could reach for this. Best to avoid this trainwreck.

Pours a mahogany brown color w/ a full, pancake spattered, semi creamy froth. Froth hangs around for a while finally receding to a fragmented continent of spattered cream. Aroma of dusty, dried, trail mix fruits, and cocoa malts w/ aged, musty citrus. Very English. Medium to full nectar w/ ample residual effers. The texture is like cotton. The sweetness factor is very mild. Strong flavors of dried fruits, especially apricot. I get some aged citrus, leather, bakers cocoa, and nut shells. Theres a defined earthy, musty character. This is very English in character. English Strong Ale meets the Abbot. Nice ! But....not as tastey as my favorites.

Deep reddish colour with a beige head. Malty, caramel sweet aroma with notes of dark fruit. Malty, fruity flavor with a light alcohol sweet finish.
