750ml bottle shared with a friend - Pours dark brown with a nice tan head that clings to the side of the glass and laces in layers. Aromas of candi sugar, raisins, yeast, caramel, and a little wood. Flavor is candi suager, raisin, yeast, caramel, and some alcohol at the finish. Soft mouthfeel with good carbonation and full body. Easy drinking for a big beer. Alcohol is slightly present at the finish though. Other than that this was delightful.

Very dark brown with some reddish highlights; yellowish-brown head, not very persistent. Very nice nose with chocolate, dark malts, and (very) light lactic acid. Lots of chocolate malt, very little sourness, all the bigger on alcohol and higher alcohols. Finishes a bit woody, dry - chocolate (malt). Very well-bodied, alcohol-warming. Very well balanced, actually, just a bit heavy on the chocolate malt. Very big thanks to JezzaP for this gem, unknown in its homecountry.

I must have had a bad bottle. Shit I just bought it from Kahns in Indy. This was like a bottle of fruity paint thinner. For sure it had some kind of kerosene taste.

Corked and caged bottle. Large tan head that mostly diminished, good lacing, minimal carbonation, transparent, and a ruby hue on the first pour and a brown hue on the second pour became cloudy, murky. malty, caramel, sweet, chocolate, dark fruits, and alcohol. Flavor was sweet, vinuous, malty, caramel, and dark fruits. Smooth mouthfeel. One of my favorite styles and in my opinion definitely worthy of a try.

This $10 corked and caged bottled brew whose cork was marked 10/13/09 from a bottle shop served at 50 degrees poured a head of almost all foam made up of fine to medium sized light brown colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a transparent very softly carbonated caramel brown colored body. The aroma was vinous and malt hop. The mouth feel was strongly tingly at the start and mediumly tingly at the finish. The flavor contained nice notes of malt caramel brown malt and was mildly vinous. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.

A hazy deep red beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet malty with strong notes of fruit. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of berries.
