Pours a murky, opaque mahogany, mostly brown. Mild tan head on top with a great retention level and fair lacing. Good rich malty aroma, smells like a quad. Light bananas and moderate spices. Flavors are different, I pull some licorice, some earthy spices, and some really sweet malts, providing banana and honey flavors. Nice big alcohol bite at the very end. Mouthfeel is full bodied, with some mild carbonation. Very warming.

750 ml. bottle. Pours a thin short lived, beige head, over a clear copper brown (SRM 18) body.....nose is dried fruits (raisin, fig, prune), cocoa, molasses, soy sauce, yeast, tobacco.....taste is slight astringent sweet to start, then spice, clove, allspice, nutmeg, finishing with a mild hot alcohol burn.....mouth feel is light (10% ABV), carbonation low. This is a pleasant, thoroughly drinkable Belgian Strong Ale. The alcohol and related aromas and flavors are more dominant than in many, and the depth of complexity found in the best is lacking.
