750 ml bottle from BevMo. Beer pours a medium-dark brown color with a small, off-white, foamy, mostly and quickly diminishing head with nice lacing. The aroma is malty with a note of toasted grain; Moderate yeast notes of blue-veined cheese, cellar and barnyard; Miscellaneous notes of dried dark stone fruits, sherry, The flavor is moderately bitter with a long, warm, lightly bitter, lightly acidic finish. The body is light-to-medium, the texture is watery-to-velvety and the carbonation is soft.

22oz bottle. Poured into a Chimay glass. Pours a deep brown with red highlights and a good sized but not massive beige foamy head. Small lasting head lingers for the duration. Nose is deep with raisin and bready yeast and spices, clove and cardamom perhaps. Falls down on the taste. Raisins and dark fruit are there but the finish has an odd hoppiness on the backend that just doesn’t seem to work with this beer. Its good but I think this needs more malt and less hops and it would be a very good ABT indeed.

Reddish brown colored, moderate head with good lacing and retention. Aroma is raisin, dark sugar, yeast, lightly spiced. Medium to full body, alcohol hidden well. Despite having everything you want, it just lacks that extra something special you see in the other ones.

Works well for me. Its got full flavor with nice alcohol and fruit flavors. Richey flavor with the winning combination. I really enjoy it.

The aroma has roasted malt, rum, oak, leaves, yeast, caramel, and dark fruit. The appearance is deep amber with an average head. The flavor is like the aroma with a medicinal aftertaste. The palate is smooth. Overall it’s pretty good.

750 ml. brown, Belgian bottle. Corked and caged. No freshness date. Poured out a ruddy red color, with a sticky tan head. Aromas are of rum soaked raisins, brown sugar, toffee, boozey alcohol. Yeasty flavors mix with rum soaked dark dried fruits. Some cherry pit flavors as well. Medium mouthfeel, dry finish. Leaves boozey burps in it’s wake.

Pours a dark hazy amber color with a thin tan head. Aroma is powerful: bread-like, fruity, raisend and some spice. Flavor is the same, very fruity, but not sweet like you would expect from the aroma. very good, and hoppier toward the end.
