Aromas of candi sugar, raisins, yeast, caramel, and a little wood. Flavor is candi suager, raisin, yeast, caramel, and some alcohol at the finish. Soft mouthfeel with good carbonation and full body. Easy drinking for a big beer. Alcohol is slightly present at the finish though. Other than that this was delightful. HogTownHarry (4037), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada

Poured deep cloudy reddish-brown with a large creamy lasting light brown head. Very appealing aroma - lactic roast malt, simply yards of sweetish yeast, a hint of hops - quite complex. Could taste the alcohol on my tongue, sharply roast malt, again piles of (fruity) yeast, mildly spicy, quite a long finish, starts sweet-malt and finishes slightly hop-bitter. Sticky mouthfeel, average body. It’s a solid brew, not quite up to the better quads, fairly close to Koenigshoeven, but not up to Rochefort or St. Bernardus. STEPHENDR (478), California, USA
