3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 twitcher (298) - framingham, Massachusetts, USA - SEP 7, 2008
bottle. Pours an opaque very dark brown, vigorous pour yields a nice inch beige head that clears, but leaves a nice layer and lacing. Heavy sweet aromas of figs, raisins, caramel. Very fruity on the nose. Flavor takes a different turn- dark toasted malt flavors, aggressive booze on the palate, some sharp vinious notes. Faint dry tartness. Palate is full and heavy, with lots of depth to the flavors, moderate bitter/boozy finish. Overall, a very interesting take on a Quad. A bit overdone, but certainly good. Slow drinking.
