3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JUL 28, 2013 Straight from the barrel at the brewpub
Orange hazy, white head. Smells of green grass, hops and spices, malts. Moderate sweet, quite clean, some fruity yeast notes, medium bitter, grassy.
A very nice beer; no carbonation, never tried a lager straight of the barrel before. I liked it quite well. We need something like this in Oslo!

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
At the brewpub, on draught. A difficult beer to rate as it is, uniquely for northern Germany, an uncarbonated beer sold fresh from wooden casks rolled down from the brewhouse on the same principle as traditional Alt or Kolsch. Has the earthy edge of all beers dispensed thus. On the other hand it is a pretty dull, soft, low-hopped zwickelbier and two or three are enough.

Gravity cask at the brewpub. Hazy, red-brown, almost orange colour with a small white head. Love this nice, warming appearance! From the aroma I get notes of caramel, malts and bittersweet fruits. Lightly sweet taste with bitter notes from citrus and orange. Medium body, oliy texture and soft carbonation. I was pleasently surprised by this beer!

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draught: Hazy, deep golden to orangey coloured, medium-sized off-white, quite stable, head; faint sweetish-grainy and yeasty nose with an extremely faint touch of hops, illusions of toasted malt, too; moderate sweetish-bitter flavour, quite soft, light to medium bodied; yeast again in the grainy-bitter finish. Quite good - by german Hausbrauerei standards...............
