COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Hips Don’t Lie is a slightly bigger interpretation of a traditional German wheat beer featuring a refreshing light body with a crisp, dry finish. A high proportion of malted wheat lends a round, pasta-like character that is complemented by a delicate balance of clove-like phenolics, banana esters and just a hint of sulfur from the classic German weissbeir yeast strain. Rose hips give this beer a subtle floral note while the honey lends to the dryness in the finish. Hops Don’t Lie is big enough to be full flavored but refreshing enought to warrant another taste.

Can from Zipp’s Liquors. Fresh floral nose. Light amber color. Gentle fruity initial: light tropical fruit / some grass rises in mid, along with a weedy bitterness / thin and slightly sweet finish. Thin-medium body. The honey adds some depth and some heavy sweetness, which seems out of place in this style. Doesn’t really seem like a weissbier.

Can - Golden with a slight haze and a big white head. Nose is tropical fruit syrup with a bit of spice and sweet wheat. Taste is sweet wheat with some tropical fruit, a bit of banana, and some spicing. A bit of bitterness too. Slick and medium bodied.

Can share by Jared, aroma of yeast and light fruit. Taste is similar, yeast really comes through. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Refreshing wheat beer. Light body, dry finish. The banana really stands out on the aroma. Very interesting beer.

16 oz can. Slightly hazy yellow, minimal carbonation. Light bodied, easy to sip on. Flavor is wheat, honey, and soft esters initially. Fades into a very dry and crisp citrus and rhurbarb like flavor. Vitamin C pills often contain rosehips, and the finish reminds me exactly of that. Slightly sour, bitter, and medicinal. I wouldn’t call it a bad beer by any means, but if they just toned down the rosehips a little bit to make it less prominent, I think this could make for a delicious and unique beer.

16oz can-thin white-hazy yellow. A-banana, some spice, wheat. T-banana/clove, some spice, wheat. Easy Americanized Hefe , maybe a fresher batch than previous rates?

Bottle. Pours a hazy golden color with white head. Banana, clove, floral aromas. Very floral, yeasty, wheat flavors. I?m not a fan of the floral flavors.

Can. Pours is a hazy yellow, banana, clove, blah blah blah. Not really sure why they added rose hips as it ruined this for me. Weird, fake tasting or something.

Pours a deep yellow (light orange?) with a fast-dissipating head. Aroma of bubblegum, cold pasta, and hospital. Taste is more bubblegum up front, marginal cloves, some rice noodles (what?) and a weird flavor in the finish which must be the rosé hips. Overall not bad, worth a try, but not a show stopper for me. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
