COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Belgian Saison was brewed in collaboration with KARE 11 news. The yeast used in this beer create a combination of peppery and citrus aromas and flavors. “Saison” means season which is appropriate for the light body and effervescent carbonation in this refreshing brew.

Food Pairings: The fruity and spicy notes are great with smoky BBQ. The spicy and peppery notes will really enhance the flavors of any hot or peppery dish. The complex flavors can overpower lighter fare, but this should not keep you from trying with fish.

Pick up a single 22-oz bomber at Cellars Wine & Sprits in Shorewood, MN. Pours a semi-hazy golden straw colored ale with an average sized off-white head that has some excellent lacing. Aroma of light fruity golden grain malt, a hint of floral hops, and some pear. Taste is light to medium bodied, some soft carbonation with flavors of golden grain malt, some light orange zest and a hint of yeast. Finish is closer to a Belgian wit, some soap aftertaste with a mild Belgian yeast. closer on the sweet saison than the typical spicy varieties I am used to.

I was served this by mistake but it wasn’t a bad choice at any rate. Hazy yellow/orange with a good white head. Definitely peppery in the finish, with obvious hops and spice, but quite a bit of citrus, too, orange and grapefruit. Some complexity. Dry to my taste. Not super lively or well supported in the body. (on tap at the Groveland Tap, St. Paul)

Dark Yellow with some cloudiness. Cloves, Bubblegum, Yeasts, Wheat, Barley and Malts make up the flavor. I would say it’s a cross between a Tripel and a Hefeweisen as it lacks the peppery aspect that comes with Saisons. Nonetheless, this is a tasty beer that is easy to drink. Definitely worth checking out; too bad this is a seasonal because this is a truly excellent beer

Light yellow and cloudy. Some yeast and lots of sugar, but lacking complexity or spiciness. Sweet.

22 oz bomber purchased at Zipps in Minneapols, Minnesota. The pour is a hazed yellow golden, with a smallish white head. The aroma is sweet ester yeast, clove, and behind that the wheat grain. The taste is the clove, wheat grain, sweet esters, and gets a strange bubblegum flavor towards the finish. The palate is light to medium bodied, soft natural carbonation, abd the clove yeasty finish. Just ok.

Nice. Easy drinking. Green apple, a bit of banana and bundle gum, with some holiday spice. Worth buying another.

Tried this beer at Papa's Pizza. A good beer, sort of a hoppy / apple taste that is very refreshing on a hot day. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours a hazy pale yellow color with a minimal head. Flavor is mild, light malt and cereal, along with some fruity notes of banana, clove, a bit of black pepper. Finish is dry, with a little beat of heat on the back of the throat. Medium bodied. Easy sipping session brew.

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2012 8/31/12 Re-Rate: Had the opportunity to have this on tap at the Gold Nugget last night, and it was better than I remember from the bomber version. Fruitier and sweeter than your standard saison, say like the Surly Cynic, and therefore more flavorful and enjoyable. A very good summer saison. 7/24/12: Bomber. Like the Cammo, this brew is better than it rates. It loses a few points in the aesthetic categories. Summertide is a good, not great, saison that has all of the proper flavor characteristics for the style but feels as though somehow it was a patchwork effort to get there. Very drinkable and one I wont hesitate to order if I see it somewhere on tap.
