COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Belgian golden ale. On the nose it is lightly hoppy and yeastily spicy, with faint caramelly malt notes and a touch of citrusy and estery fruit. The head tastes extremely bitter, as is often the case with this style. Surprisingly fruity, but with a strong hoppy bitterness. There is a warming, malty, vanilla quality to it, which develops into an alcohol kick towards the end. Secondary fermentation in the bottle.

Much like Duvel; with the exception of lots of floaters and smaller head. Crisp and dry with Rye and wheat aromas. Good brew but would rather have a Duvel or La Fin Du Monde.

on draft. Very nice belgian strong. Poured yellow with a crazy frothy white head. it was a treat to have this. A stong beer and it tasted like it.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2011 Wow. Surpisingly brown beer. Very fresh. it’s like you first beer on the first hot day of the year. grass, cheese, banana, pale, golden, clear, white foam, medium sweetness, lightly sour, light body, thin feel, average carbonation,

Warning! Early amateur rating! Draft at the Brew Wharf mini beer festival. Fruity with caramel and toffee notes. Complex and tasty.

330ml bottle (Delirium Cafe, Brussels) BB2010-12, drunk 2011-01
5 Not much aroma, only slightly sweet light berries.
3 cloudy orange with sinky bits, small head. Delirium barman poured rather than us, grrr...
6 Gentle light grains, milky, absolutely no hint of alcohol, and it doesn’t taste like a big beer at all. Has some of the sweetness of fresh almonds.
4 Pleasant palate before you get to the sludge at the bottom (which squicks me a bit), good level of carbonation.
14 Aged very well, massively mellow and soft. Shame that it’s lacking some balls in the aroma department. Dunno if the new moortgat Lucifer will compare well to this, I hope so.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2011 (33ml bottle). When i think of beer and satan then ovbiously Duvel is sitting on my shoulder making me drink . This other satantic beer looks promising -big creamy head above a yeasty , murky , honey coloured liquid....nose is florals .. fruit esters. hay. honey . some rich malts. Its a bit shallow and lifeless to drink . Lotta yeast bite ..raw alcohol and flabby malt sweetness. Like Duvel without the soul and quality.

Pours a light golden color with a HUGE frothy thick white head. The aroma is a light malt with banana and citrus notes. Lacing stains the glass on this one. The taste is honey and a sweet vanilla finish. A well done belgian.

Shared this one w/SkyCop32. Pours a medium golden yellowish color. Aromas of fruit, yeast and some pepper. Flavors are sour, yeasty, and a touch of sweetness at the finish.

2005 bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a hazy golden yellow color with massive three finger pillowy white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of candy sugar, caramel, toffee, fresh apple, some hints of light spice and yeast. Flavor is about the same with a touch of oxidation--but not bad for a beer that is nearly 5 years old. Medium body with a sweet and malty finish. Nice ale that has aged well.

Gold pour. Super malty aroma with some alcohol and yeast. Flavor is yeasty and fruity. warming as it goes down. Fruity and good.
