COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Belgian golden ale. On the nose it is lightly hoppy and yeastily spicy, with faint caramelly malt notes and a touch of citrusy and estery fruit. The head tastes extremely bitter, as is often the case with this style. Surprisingly fruity, but with a strong hoppy bitterness. There is a warming, malty, vanilla quality to it, which develops into an alcohol kick towards the end. Secondary fermentation in the bottle.

UPDATED: JAN 2, 2011 (33ml bottle). When i think of beer and satan then ovbiously Duvel is sitting on my shoulder making me drink . This other satantic beer looks promising -big creamy head above a yeasty , murky , honey coloured liquid....nose is florals .. fruit esters. hay. honey . some rich malts. Its a bit shallow and lifeless to drink . Lotta yeast bite ..raw alcohol and flabby malt sweetness. Like Duvel without the soul and quality.

Pours a light golden color with a HUGE frothy thick white head. The aroma is a light malt with banana and citrus notes. Lacing stains the glass on this one. The taste is honey and a sweet vanilla finish. A well done belgian.

Shared this one w/SkyCop32. Pours a medium golden yellowish color. Aromas of fruit, yeast and some pepper. Flavors are sour, yeasty, and a touch of sweetness at the finish.

2005 bottle from Willow Bend Liquors (Tampa, FL). Pours a hazy golden yellow color with massive three finger pillowy white head. Aroma is sweet and malty with notes of candy sugar, caramel, toffee, fresh apple, some hints of light spice and yeast. Flavor is about the same with a touch of oxidation--but not bad for a beer that is nearly 5 years old. Medium body with a sweet and malty finish. Nice ale that has aged well.

This is what a Budweiser/Miller/Coors would taste like if it had 8% alcohol.

Yeasty with a citrus undertone aroma. Yellow gold colour, with some lacing. Spicy citrus flavour. A nice beer!

Had typical Belgian strong ale characteristics but just not right on mark. I was a little disappointed by this baby.

Aroma is full of Belgian yeast, some mild hops, and some spice aromas (minor bits of clove), and a little alcohol (principally light bourbon). The appearance is a golden color, with a decent white head, will developed lacing. The flavor is mildly tart, and slightly oaken taste, with a bit of cognac hints, with a nice caramel body. Super smooth, and a nice finish with a little woody at the end.
