3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: MAR 25, 2003 Huge head on this bad boy. It is a good Belgian, although not as thick as many I've had... the flavor was more like a Begian Light beer. Certainly good, but more flavor would be appreciated.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Champagne style appearance. Very light and bubbly. Light grass, straw nose. Slightly bitter and acidic with a good dose of carbination. The alcohol is well masked behind the dry yeast and outdoor flavors.

3.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Rather boring nose from what I prefer, but nothing to complain about. The sweetness is quite present, so much that it adds nicely to the bite presented here. Quite bubbly at the begenning, but clams down nicely.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Big sticky Belgian head. Slight chill haze. Spicy nose, perhaps coriander. Mild sweet palate that reminds me of Champagne.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Subtle aroma, looks a bit naff, tastes kinda thin but bubbly. Bitter in a chalky feel.
Minimal spice. Doesn’t feel like a high alcohol beer. You have to check the bottle to make that it really said 8%.
Still, pretty good.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Very spicy, a bit rough on the palate, you can feel the alcohol going down. Not exactly a top notch BSA but passable.

UPDATED: JAN 17, 2004 Re-Rate 01/17/04:
The beer pours a transpicuous gold color with a mountainous bright white head; the texture is spumous in texture with the remaining lace a thin white veil to conceal the glass. Malt dominates the nose, lightly sweet with a fresh crispness, a smidgeon of yeast, pleasant as noses go, start is decently malted and sweet, top is middling in feel. Finish is dastardly acidic, the hops are delightful in their spiciness, desert bone dry and long lasting the aftertaste, also a bit of belly warming, a decent beer, can’t say it’s a favorite, but drinkable nonetheless.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Good Ale. Nice balance of spice, fruit and hop flavor. Finishes with a nice clean crisp bitter taste.

3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: JAN 6, 2004 750ML bottle, no date: White fizzy head that quickly settles to a thin tiny bubbled one. Cloudy straw color, huge spicy, yeasty aroma that is certainly this brews high point. Fizzy mouthfeel and way too much alcohol when you swallow. 8%ABV?? I would have guessed 10! A beer to try and enjoy, but not love. Not as good as the sum of its parts.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
This has a pale ale quality, but is not really impressive.
