COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Belgian golden ale. On the nose it is lightly hoppy and yeastily spicy, with faint caramelly malt notes and a touch of citrusy and estery fruit. The head tastes extremely bitter, as is often the case with this style. Surprisingly fruity, but with a strong hoppy bitterness. There is a warming, malty, vanilla quality to it, which develops into an alcohol kick towards the end. Secondary fermentation in the bottle.

Pours with a huge, foamy head. Slightly more carbonation than i expected, and lighter in colour. Lovely pepper and fruit smell, almost a spiced wine. It drinks a lot lighter than i might have thought too, but it still packs a bit of a spicey aftertaste. I like this one!

Pale golden body, large head. Citrus notes in the very spicy malt...somewhat of a soapy flavor brings this down a little, but the finish is quite smooth.

Pale Golden Color, unappetizing aroma. Slightly Spicy flavor but not in a good way. The finish was awful.

UPDATED: MAY 29, 2003 Enticing green apple yeast aroma comes through with a little sharpness on the palate. Noticeable alcohol strength and warmth in the finish.

Decent Belgian golden which doesn’t stand out. Nice peppery flavours but in general not as packed with flavour as most Belgians.

Good head but bitter to tast without the liquid to soften it a bit. Spicy yeast aroma with light malty flavors. Lightly bitter dry finish.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2008 Bottle (BB Apr/10). Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs), lightly yeasty (basement, mold), with light notes of plastic and pineapple juice. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. A beginner’s strong golden ale, if that makes any sense. Simple aroma with a few minor off notes, simple and light/sweet flavor balance. Not much going on here.
