A Belgian golden ale. On the nose it is lightly hoppy and yeastily spicy, with faint caramelly malt notes and a touch of citrusy and estery fruit. The head tastes extremely bitter, as is often the case with this style. Surprisingly fruity, but with a strong hoppy bitterness. There is a warming, malty, vanilla quality to it, which develops into an alcohol kick towards the end. Secondary fermentation in the bottle.

Misty gold with bathfoam suds. Soapy, rubbery, alcoholic aroma with traces of marmalade and pine. Aggressively booze-sodden with lurking antiseptic notes. Pointless, pleasureless administration of alcohol to the central nervous system. Pissed comprehensively over by Duvel. Can’t be bothered.

33cl bottle. It actually was the last bottle the bar had and could not get more due to the brewery going bankrupt. Pours golden with thin white head. Aroma is hoppy, yeasty lightly fruity. Taste was sweet, citrusy and yeasty. Found the beer to be extremelly sweet and complex.

Orange and unclear. White, lasting head. Aroma has notes of soured milk. And the flavor is lactic. Finish is slightly alcohol.

Bottle, 1 pint and 9.4 FL oz. Hazy gold color with tall white head. Aroma is light with a bit of spicy hops, lemon, candy sugar and yeast. As the beer warms I smell a bit of malt sweetness. First sip is an explosion of carbonation. The taste starts off tart along with hints of candy sugar. Midway the sugar part gets stronger and some pepper. Later a hint of the alcohol surfaces.

Bottle. Golden beer with a big white head. Slight hoppy, yeasty, spicy aroma. Spicy, yeasty, lemony flavor. High carbonation. Medium bodied with a dry finish. Lighter, delicate flavor that fades to a bit of spice. refreshing. Hides alcohol well.

A Mes rate: Very very similar to Duvel. Citric, yeasty but with some extra spice as compared to Duvel. Huge rocky head that dies all too quickly. Plenty of malt and a little of something sweet vanilla? cream? Alcohol is clearly there and its all rounded off with plenty of spice. Very much like a spicy Duvel.

Had typical Belgian strong ale characteristics but just not right on mark. I was a little disappointed by this baby.
