COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A Belgian golden ale. On the nose it is lightly hoppy and yeastily spicy, with faint caramelly malt notes and a touch of citrusy and estery fruit. The head tastes extremely bitter, as is often the case with this style. Surprisingly fruity, but with a strong hoppy bitterness. There is a warming, malty, vanilla quality to it, which develops into an alcohol kick towards the end. Secondary fermentation in the bottle.

Misty gold with bathfoam suds. Soapy, rubbery, alcoholic aroma with traces of marmalade and pine. Aggressively booze-sodden with lurking antiseptic notes. Pointless, pleasureless administration of alcohol to the central nervous system. Pissed comprehensively over by Duvel. Canít be bothered.

Bottle. Golden beer with a big white head. Slight hoppy, yeasty, spicy aroma. Spicy, yeasty, lemony flavor. High carbonation. Medium bodied with a dry finish. Lighter, delicate flavor that fades to a bit of spice. refreshing. Hides alcohol well.

Bottle, 1 pint and 9.4 FL oz. Hazy gold color with tall white head. Aroma is light with a bit of spicy hops, lemon, candy sugar and yeast. As the beer warms I smell a bit of malt sweetness. First sip is an explosion of carbonation. The taste starts off tart along with hints of candy sugar. Midway the sugar part gets stronger and some pepper. Later a hint of the alcohol surfaces.

Bottle. Fluffy white lasting head. Hazy yellow body with a lot of carbonation. Sweet and fruity aroma. Sweet fruity yet spicy flavor. Alcohol just noticeable, almost hidden by the high carbonation.

33cl bottle. It actually was the last bottle the bar had and could not get more due to the brewery going bankrupt. Pours golden with thin white head. Aroma is hoppy, yeasty lightly fruity. Taste was sweet, citrusy and yeasty. Found the beer to be extremelly sweet and complex.

Orange and unclear. White, lasting head. Aroma has notes of soured milk. And the flavor is lactic. Finish is slightly alcohol.

UPDATED: FEB 4, 2008 Bottle (BB Apr/10). Head is initially large, frothy, white, mostly lasting. Body is hazy medium yellow, bottle conditioned. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain, husks), lightly hoppy (herbs), lightly yeasty (basement, mold), with light notes of plastic and pineapple juice. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic. A beginnerís strong golden ale, if that makes any sense. Simple aroma with a few minor off notes, simple and light/sweet flavor balance. Not much going on here.
