Pours a hazy straw colour. Had on tap at Dario’s Brasserie in Omaha, Nebraska. White, 2 fingered pillowy head with excellent lacing. Aroma of bread and biscuits. Medium, smooth body and it hides its 8% ABV very well. Easy drinking and a lovely medium-bodied brew for cold nights or summer patios. One of my preferred belgian brews.

clear yellow, large white head. dry dusty aroma, tight yellow fruity note like dry champaigne. not very strong aroma. flavor is quite typically belgian, actually i think i recognize het anker (yeast perhaps), mild sweet malty, faint cellary, flowery (sweet flowery) notes , very faint citrussy note. not much , if any hop bitterness or hop flavor. Overall an easy drinking belgian with a tightly sweet and dry profile.

Het Anker Lucifer On draught at Refuge in San Carlos. Pours hazy with a unique yellow-grey color. Massive head lingers and leaves great lacing. Spice and slight esters on the nose. Well balanced with malt and a little spice. Chewy yeast with sweetness lingering. The 8% alcohol is deceptive, as I don’t get a lot out of this beer.

Pours cloudy, typical blonde, decent head. Nice table beer, buttery texture, well balanced but unexceptonal.

Hazy straw to light gold with a lively, fizzy head. Aroma is of light yeast and hops. Flavor is super-mellow for 8 abv, and yet it holds quite a complexity of yeast-related flavors. A slight fruitiness (apricot and berry), a slight yeastiness (baking bread), and slight phenols, all in balance. After a while, I realized the hop flavors, and especially the hop bitterness where a bit more strong than the other flavors, especially in the immediate aftertaste. It would be very difficult to find a flaw in this beer. If I had to, I’d say the bitterness was slightly harsh and could have been balanced by some of the yeast flavors if they had stuck around longer. The carbonation was not overwhelming despite the healthy pour. Light to medium bodied.

Bottled (from bierplanet.eu). Goldeny orange colour with big foamy white head, that leaves lace. Aroma is bigtime yeast, alcohol, big fruityness as well as some slight grassy and caramelly and toffeeish notes. Flavour is caramel malts, quite a bunch of spices, some peas, mild yeasty and toffeeish notes.
