3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at the Hopdevil in Zagreb
Poured a murky dark yellow-golden body. Soft, nice chalky orangey nose with some light notes of banana showing up. Better than expected. The taste is quite a bit different though. It remains soft, and the mouthfeel is very nice. The taste is, however, crackery and slightly bready, slightly sweet and yoghurty, with a very light bitter note near the end. Quite balanced. Not the tastiest beer around but a very good beer for itsí style.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Sampled on tap, April 2010 @ Brasserie Beck, Washington DC
A blonde colored beer, the aroma is somewhat fruity, with a light herbal component, some menthol hop touches, honey-like malt sweetness underneath which are some biscuit aromatics, but really more cracker-like grain notes.
The flavor has a big straw-grain component that leads into a cracker and pale-biscuit flavor. Honey-like malt character adds a sweetness to the brew. This actually has a really nice malt character to it, but the hops are quite noticeable at this point too; hints of mint and light lemon round out the hop flavors. This is light textured, as expected, but nicely quaffable and of course way to drinkable for the style.
This is quite enjoyable and it drinks like a big, lower alcohol brew, by which I mean at 8% it is dangerously drinkable.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap @ Nelson Strasbourg. Pours a golden beer almost without head. It tastes bitter and pungent taste, bit disappointed, body medium and dry finish.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours murky blonde with an enormous white foamy head that grew annoyingly large even when poured very gently. Nose is quite sweet with fruitiness and a little belgian yeast to it. Flavor isnít all that interesting....very standard belgian strong ale maltiness with the hints of citrus, alcohol, and subdued hoppiness usually found in the style. Leaves a sugary taste and feeling in your mouth...almost like after drinking soda. I expected much more from something named "Lucifer".

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Gold and clear. Fizzy scant head has no lace. Bandaid and rubberband taints the aroma, which could on the other hand be interpreted as resinous...It tastes better than it smells, giving the beer the benefit of the doubt there. High carbonation, quite fizzy. The resin does come out more, leaving the rubberband and bandaid behind. Nice dry, resinous finish with a touch of honey in the middle. Ends up having a decent complexity and is quite fun.

3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle. Lightly orange, yellow. Big white head, that holds ok. Hoppy-citruspiced smell. Not a bad smell at all for me. Full taste of bread, frtuis and spices. Not bad at all, expected less from this one.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
750 ml. bottle. Pours a huge white, tiny bubbled head, which gradually subsides into a lasting sea foam, with extensive lacing, over a hazy yellow (SRM 5) body.....nose is light cereal, with apple, pear, bit of citrus.......taste is light cereal to start, then light apple, pear finishing with a pleasant pepper, a light sweetness lingers throughout....mouth feel is light, carbonation high. This is a typical Belgian Golden Strong and meets the style almost perfectly. It has the appearance, nose, taste and mouth feel one expects. My only complaints are that it may be a bit too sweet, and lacks complexity. . BJCP 7/3/13/5/7

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Dull tan with thick haze. No particular head this time around. The aroma is apple, with other fruits and some dusty yeast influence. On the palate, this is brighter. There is a pear/apple note, a firm alcohol presence, an understated slightly biscuity pale malt notes and the yeast character is dry without being overwhelming. It finishes fruity - mango, pineapple and things like that. I like the new Lucifer, itís not Duvel but itís not bad.
