KajII (799) - Macon, North Carolina, USA - JUN 18, 2012
UPDATED: JUN 19, 2012 Bottle. The pour was a hazy golden yellow with an average sized (1-2 finger) white frothy head that reduced slowly, down to a heavy film with a large collar which possessed some excellent sheets of lacing. The aroma was of a funky barnyard Belgian yeast and a light grain malt with notes of honey, citrus (lemon), toffee, a mild fruitiness and a slight alcohol scent. The taste was lightly sweet with a malty citrus note in the beginning, and then became very yeasty and a bit sour with a hint of green apple and a slight peppery alcohol tinge towards the end. The flavor lasted an average duration following the swallow, with a nice mild fruity funky yeast taste left behind. Mouthfeel was light in body and creamy in texture with a mild carbonation. Overall a very good Belgian Ale with a nice fruity citrus presence, that along with a good mix of yeast and alcohol helped make sure that no one flavor was so overpowering that it overshadowed any other. This brew was very tasty and rather refreshing for a beer that has such a high ABV…

Pite pod koniec daty przydatności. Głębokie złote, piana drobna. Owocowe, słodowe, nuty drożdzowe. Ogólnie przeciętne.

16 ounce can at Melt on Cherokee St. Very hazy golden with a steady white head of one finger. Belgian notes. This is a sweet beer. Plenty of orange flavor that is almost orange sherbert. Bready yeast and a hint of cloves. Not a classic Belgian.

Had a few times many years ago. Was not overly impressed and did not rate it. Now years later (and with some research apparently this beer changed hands many times since then) having an April 2014 bottle at Eulogy in March 2015. Cloudy yellow amber pour with a large frothy white head. Thick lace. Feels like a nice modest Belgium single. Notably fuller bodied than most (read Duvel) - very nice creamy texture. Flavors run typically Belgium. Citrusy orange bready notes. Not overly complex but nicely constructed. Pleasant.

Bottle. Slightly murky golden orange pour with frothy head. Aroma is mostly apple, apple cider, yeast. Hint of pear, yeast deposit reveals copper. Taste is relatively sour and astringent. Yeast deposit takes some of the sourness away. Aftertaste is apple juice, sticky.

750 ml bottle. Pours a light yellowish gold with gushing head. Aromas of apples, coriander, and light Belgian yeast. Flavors carry same with additional grain and spice. Almost like a Wit. Nice.

CervezaCabeza (39) - Le Mans, FRANCE - MAR 7, 2015
Pours a cloudy golden blonde color with a generous pillowy white head. Exceptional lacing. Aroma is orange peel, clove, and coriander. The flavor is spicy but the fruit flavors are overpowered by the astringent alcohol. It still holds up as an excellent Belgian blonde. The finish is smooth.
