UPDATED: JUN 19, 2012 Bottle. The pour was a hazy golden yellow with an average sized (1-2 finger) white frothy head that reduced slowly, down to a heavy film with a large collar which possessed some excellent sheets of lacing. The aroma was of a funky barnyard Belgian yeast and a light grain malt with notes of honey, citrus (lemon), toffee, a mild fruitiness and a slight alcohol scent. The taste was lightly sweet with a malty citrus note in the beginning, and then became very yeasty and a bit sour with a hint of green apple and a slight peppery alcohol tinge towards the end. The flavor lasted an average duration following the swallow, with a nice mild fruity funky yeast taste left behind. Mouthfeel was light in body and creamy in texture with a mild carbonation. Overall a very good Belgian Ale with a nice fruity citrus presence, that along with a good mix of yeast and alcohol helped make sure that no one flavor was so overpowering that it overshadowed any other. This brew was very tasty and rather refreshing for a beer that has such a high ABV

Bottle shared in London on the 42nd floor - big thanks to Daniel for this gem! Pours mostly clear gold with a creamy white head. White bread in the nose, meringue, yeast, wheat. Medium sweet flavor, lots of simple white bread, minimal bitterness, ripe lemon, Belgian yeast. Medium to full bodied with lively carbonation and massaging carbonation. Warming finish with more simple white bread, meringue, hints of vanilla, wheat, yeast. Tasty, and drinks pretty well for the strength.

@ Bryssel 15-10-30: Typisk belgisk med tydeligt kryddiga toner. Lite fr parfymerad - ok fyllighet

Bottle from Bier Tempel. Hazy golden with a white head. Esters, some fruit, perfume, warming alcohol. Sweet and a boring one to be honest.

I like the newer version better than the pre-2009 brew. Pour is very nice, hazy, rich gold with a thick, creamy, white head that lasts and leaves lacing. Aroma of pear, honey, coriander...quite nice. Tows the line of refreshing and light drinkability matched with enough malt, hops, and alcohol kick to take you where you want to go. Spicy feel on the tongue, somewhat sour finish, very strong Belgian character. Im glad that I revisited this ale, would recommend.

Bottle 24/10/2013. Pear fruit, wet clay, no hops, heavy fruity esters. Perhaps taste of dormant yeast in bottle. Not much to rate.
