3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Originally rated on 5/14/08- "A nice looking pale, hazy golden body with plenty of yeast flakes floating around, a thick white head. The first taste wasnt agreeable, I was greeted by a strong barley/ yeast taste, and the alcohol was pronounced. The flavors settled a bit after the second/ third sip, and it finished well. Overall it was a decent brew.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
One of the Duvel offspring, created by Riva in 1984; when it went bankrupt in 2008, the brewery was taken over by Moortgat, but since Moortgat already had Duvel itself, this particular beer brand was sold to Het Anker. The original Riva version had a hazy light blonde colour and creamy snow white head, a softer and fruitier, but also less inspired character than Duvel and a plastic-like, phenolic finish which bothered me a bit. Nothing compared to the real thing, but enormously improved since Het Anker took it over.

2 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
A: Light golden pale color, slightly cloudy S: Mild clove spice scent along with banana and fruit T: The taste of cloves translate from the nose to the palate strongly, not foreign to these types of beers. I generally don’t like Belgian beers, but I really enjoyed this one. The alcohol content warms as it goes down. O: I liked this beer a lot, I knew I couldn’t go wrong with a name like “Lucifer” and I was right. It was refreshing, clean and light, I look forward to drinking it again

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
0.33l old bottle from Braai Tapperij de Mug in Middelburg. This is a a blurry pale golden one with a big and near everlasting bright white heavy lacing head. The aroma has some dusty spiderweb wibes, some old ripe strawberries, yeast and some Belgian white sugar. It still has a aggressive carbonation level and a thin oily texture in the mouth. The flavor reveals some raw alcohol, white sugar, floral tones, that characteristic Belgian yeast, thin watery lemons and something earthy/dusty. Clearly quite old this. I like the name more than the beer itself, but it’s by no means a bad one. Just a bit, what to say, standard and ordinary? 08.06.2012
