madquacker (505), Canberra ACT, Australia Mar 22, 2008 Nice white bubbling head. Pale colour. Subtle warmth over a pale ale. Almost like there is chilli at the back end??
BartC (255), Lichtaart, Belgium Sep 23, 2008 Golden beer with a creamy white head. Slightly malty aroma but overall neutral. Spicy taste, some alcohol. Malty and alcoholic finish. Not very special. cheapdark (1606), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 22, 2008 OK, so what about the name of this stuff? $7 for a small draft at McGoos in Pgh. Smells like many other belgies. Good clean olfactory, quite interesting. Looks like any other pale yellow beer, clear and pale. Barely any carbonation. Not overly alky in flavor, is refined and you’d never know it was near 9%. Quite smooth for that alky content, I think I feel a buzz coming on. Is a little less refined than a 6% belgie but you gotta expect that. Finish is a little less civilized than I like and more than I expected. Not bad, however, does not live up to the standards of a true belgie like East End Session #9 - Grisette and is not nearly as good as Leute Bokbier for a strong belgie. kassner (182), Wexford, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 18, 2008 On tap at nagoo’s. belgian Golden Clear and light, but well balanced taste. Licorice, pears and alcohol, carbonation just a tad high, and dome hops. Nice for the type pepperford (108), robbinsdale, Minnesota, USA Sep 16, 2008 Hazy gold with a thin white head. Sweet and yeasty flavors. Hints of honey, malt, and tinge of grassiness. Crosling (1660), Loveland, Colorado, USA Sep 14, 2008 Dark golden colored beer. Wispy, well lasting and layered foam. Polish, leather and fruit aroma isn’t great. Flavor is lightly malty, fruity and sweet. Boozy and poorly balanced, with out any depth. Lacking yeast driven flavors as well. Not dirty, but not clean either. Just a poor Belgian overall.
