pjk33 (383), Sligo - Curllsville Heights, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 25, 2006 Bottle. You know, I love Belgians, but this one didn’t fit the bill for me. Light and extremely dry with too many creepy floaters. I don’t mind yeast and some particles, but this was like frog eggs... slimy and disgusting. Nose was yeasty and a bit of hops along with that sweet tangy Belgian smell. Also, their was almost a fusel alcohol flavor and wispiness up into the nose. I wish I liked it, but I think it sucks. Maybe I’ll try another after seeing the rating here... maybe not.
fonefan (4468), Ulfborg, Denmark Sep 6, 2008 Bottle @ home. Clear light to medium orange color with a average to large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, malt and milk sour, moderate yeasty. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (280608) ucusty (1062), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Aug 28, 2008 Tap at tylers taproom in durham, nc. Bright gold pour with a thin haze. Definitely some protein coagulation from the yeast. Cloyingly sweet. JCB (1014), Durham, North Carolina, USA Aug 27, 2008 11.2oz from a beer club. Glowing golden pour, as if lit from within. Some haze in there from the yeasts, and a modest head. Faintly fruity aroma quickly gives way to a strong, sharp smell of hops. A pretender to the throne of Duvel? Most likely. I do enjoy this kind of style, but this brew is too heavy on the sweet malts, giving it a less than fully complex personality. That and the fairly thin mouthfeel makes it mostly a pass. dwyerpg (2065), Las Vegas, Nevada, USA Aug 25, 2008 A light spice aroma. Looks great. The flavor has a good spiciness to it up front. A little alcohol in the finish. Nice light color; much more like a tripel to me. Tasty beer. RugbyKrunk (1), , Alabama, USA does not count Aug 22, 2008 Great, clean beer with a good texture for such a light ale. Too bad my distributor has discontinued it...
