Tame aroma, dark brown body with hefty head. Slightly watery initial taste with a dry lychee bite. Dense bergamot palate and a taught peppery finish. Solid but wondering why it’s not brewed often? Cask, Hanging Bat, Edinburgh

AROMA: chocolate, roasty, APPEARANCE: clear, dark red TASTE: light sweetness, lightly bitter, PALATE: medium body, slick feel, velvety, long finish, soft carbonation, OVERALL: lovely mouthfeel and good balance of tastes, has several nice aromas, but not sufficient depth to warrant a 4+

[cask at the Hanging Bat, Edinburgh] Pours deep clear brown with a tight cream-coloured head. Aroma of sweet caramel, chocolate and slightly smoky roasty coffee. Similar flavours, although the sweetness wins out in a rich, toffee-like finish. Aftertaste eventually becomes dry with more of that roastiness. Definitely one from the Luckie stable, Stuart excels at beers like this [23122012]

Cask at bat. Brown with off white head. Aroma has some sharp orange hops, slight chocolate nuttiness. Taste has spicy and sharp fruity hops, caramel, nuts. Slightly thin with a dry slightly bitter finish. Well balanced. Quite nice
