1.2 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 3/20 rauchbier (3135) - Isle Of Beer, - OCT 21, 2009
Bottle, from Tesco Scunthorpe. Faintly hazy lemon gold, no head and low condition. Low starch and ester aromas, Thin in the mouth with a nasty fruitiness bordering on bile, plus some background sweetness of undeterminate providence, short sweet and starchy finish. Didn’t leave me rubbing my belly.
1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 6/20 Sevenlee (365) - Central Coast, NSW, AUSTRALIA - FEB 10, 2012
I must admit I bought this because of the cool bottle knowing full well that the chances of it being any good were pretty minimal. Aroma is malt with some brewing cereal. Taste is about the same. No bitterness. Pretty bad.
1.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20 gramity (520) - Edmonton, Alberta, CANADA - FEB 10, 2012
Pours a hazy yellow-gold with a spare white head. Aroma: Whoa, skunkarama! Along with the skunkfest there’s grain and some caramel or toffee or something. Flavour’s watery, grainy and has that weird caramel/toffee medley thingy as well. Light bodied. Not good at all. Cool bottle though.
1.2 AROMA 1/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 5/20 pudds (15) - Brandon, Manitoba, CANADA - FEB 1, 2012
Poured clear and golden with a nice light foamy head.
Smells terrible, typical green bottle skunk smell.
Tastes better than the aroma would suggest. Carbonation is somewhere between light and medium with a lingering veggie/skunky aftertaste.
This is your typical tasteless macro lager. I was given two as a gift and I’m not sure if the second will ever make it out of the fridge.
2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20 mmmbeer (987) - Austin, Texas, USA - JAN 30, 2012
11.2 oz. bottle served in shaker (an additional point will be added to the overall score because I like the bottle)- poured a transparent slightly thin yellow color, medium carbonation, 3mm white head formed and tried to lace to an extent. Aroma of a light malt with corn and rice, and a touch of hops. Hits the mouth with a thin body, malt has some sweetness to it- at least it isn’t skunk!, middle holds up well, finish has a kiss of the hops. Not too shabby for my last beer before RBWG- give me break, I’m trying to quit smoking and anything near the sight of beer makes me smoke!
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 ronaldtheriot (362) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - JAN 26, 2012
Lucky Buddha has a medium, white head and a just slightly hazy straw appearance, with little brown flecks floating about and a decent amount of lacing. The aroma (green bottle) was happily not skunked, but one gets sweetness, white bread, and a kiss of the hops. Taste is lightly roasted barley, bread, some paper, sweetness, bread crumb, a touch of pleasant bitterness, and there are other obscure flavors which I can’t pin down (honey?). Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Lucky Buddha Beer finishes crisp, clean, refreshing, dry, and easy drinking. This is a delightful lager. RJT

Bottle. Golden colour with a white head. Aroma is malt, fruit. Flavour is malt, fruit, apple, hay. Boring beer.
