COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Certified Evil is an undomesticated beast, a dark, ominous and oak aged creation, its aggressive hops battle its massive malt profile, flavor assaulting all those who bear witness. Malt beverage brewed with brown sugar, raisin juice, molasses, cardamom and orange peel and aged in wine casks.

Some time back we had a number of visitors staying with us. For fun, they took turns going out and picking up varieties of beer. I kept notes about what we thought about each, but can not find them anywhere. I did find a bag of empties from that time period, so thought I would at least record those w/o commet and ratings from memory. This is one of those. (When I do find the notes it will be interesting to see how close I came)

With a name like Certified Evil and an eye-catching bottle design, I expect a bad-ass beer. Happily, Lucky Bucketís brew mostly fits the bill. Although the jury is still out on whether this is a Belgian strong dark ale or a strong porter, this beer has a marvelous depth of flavor and character. Letís start with the appearance, though. This brew is black but not quite opaque when held up to light. Itís not very heady but still manages to impart a strong aroma that reveals roasted malt with hints of soy sauce and dark fruit. The taste is almost impossible to resist with its complexity when combined with the smooth feel. Itís smoky and rich with touches of raisin, dark chocolate, and oak. While Certified Evil isnít the very best of whatí s out there, itís a damn good Nebraska beer and an excellent value considering the style and the care that was taken in brewing this ale.

Extremely delicious! This beer is very similar to Surly Darkness due to the raisin juice. Very tasty. Sip slowly to truly enjoy this flavorful beer!

Sampled at GABF2013. Pours a dark brownish black with a tan head. Aroma of chocolate, dark bread, mild vanilla, coffee and roast notes. Flavor is smooth, nice chocolate and roast notes with touches of sweetness imparted from vanilla. Full bodied, creamy carbonation. Pretty nice.

Pours a deep black with a medium bubbly tan head. Aroma of roasted malts that come across a bit harsh, coffee grounds, dirt, hints of molasses and caramel. Nose does come across a bit too harsh. Flavor of milk chocolate, coffee milkshake, toffee and vanilla beans. Aroma hits as harsh but flavor comes across nicely.
