Lucky Bucketís Original American IPA begins with a nice malt bill that lets the brew stand up to the mountain of hops added later. After the boil, the hot wort (the beer before itís really beer) is fired through a hop back, a unique four-barrel stainless steel tank filled with a gratuitous amount of raw flower Amarillo, Centennial, and Cascade hops, extracting the aromatic oils and flavor of the hops. Followed with additional dry hopping in the fermenter, the end result is a big, well-balanced West Coast-style IPA with terrific hop flavor and aroma.

2012-01-19. Crisp golden orange body, small beige head. 3+ Mild bitterness, leafy hops are very lightly resiny. 6+ Leafy green hop aroma, cannabis like hops, very lightly oxidized perhaps. Average palate. Okay. Bottle from trade with suttree

Bottle courtesy of Radek. Deep amber beer with a thin head. The aroma has a little bit of soft fruit and an odd peanutty flavour. Fairly odd really. A bit of citrus and some light pithy bitterness. A little bit of light malt sweetness a touch of crystal malt/iced tea. Meh - itís okay.

12 oz bottle from Pepsican. Nose is light citrus and very grassy, earthy hops mixed with a little malt backbone. Cloudy amber orange with a big lightly lacing beige head. Flavor is bitter with bits of lemon and grass along with a hint of coffee in the background.

Reddish colour with white head. Lively aroma of citrus. Taste is bitter, pine, citrus, with a kind of sweet aftertaste. A credible IPA.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a large off-white head. Aroma of piney hops and citrus. Taste is piney hops, floral hops, citrus, and some malt. Good balance. Nice.

Dripping with resinous hops, this IPA packs a surprisingly bitter punch, wringing every last west coast IBU from the recipe. The malts give a grainy, meek background, one barely noticeable in the face of such massive piney massiveness. Good nose, even with a hint of metallic ick. The texture isnít that great-- the beer seems overcarbonated and spiky, too harsh when coupled with a sandpaper-dry finish. Good but one is plenty.

Hazy amber with a medium brown head. Aroma of pale malt, citrus, resinous, earthy and danky hops. Taste is earthy with moderately sweet pale malt, citrus, bready malt and mild bitterness.

Bottled sample. Clear copper in colour with fairly strong carbonation. PIne lumber upfront in the nose, backed by sme white grapefruit, nutty malts and faint caramel. More pine wood in the mouth, but it takes on an additional sap quality as well. White grapefruit shows up a bit more here too. Solid chunky black pepper bitterness. I didnít get a whole lot of Amarillo notes out of this beer, but Cascade and Centennial are here in spades. A solid (somewhat safe) IPA overall. Good.

Bottle. 2nd time Iíve had this. Aroma nothing special. Flavor is really nice though. Has similar hop to that in north coast white hawk ipa. Really like it.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2013 IPA glass. Pours a cloudy bronze with a thick foamy white head. Really tasty smelling, hints of hops and sticky pine. Good but not great tasting, the initial taste is a bit watered down and the flavor hits towards the end.
