2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20
Twist-off. Pours translucent dark gold. Smoothish, fluffy head that sticks nicely. A whiff of skunk in the nose--unusual for an IPA--complemented by something a bit unappetizing, arguably gueuze-like. Pretty hard carbonation. Not exactly the hop bitters you want--more like alcohol bitters. This definitely drinks hotter than 6.3%. Actually a pretty sweet beer. Not my style of IPA.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A dark amber with a white head. Aroma contains some citrus and caramel. Flavor is a nice balance of malty and hoppy with some caramel and toffee mixed in with some oranges and grapefruit. This is still hop head friendly but offers more than just bitter. Good beer.

Dry hop aroma, although faint. Overall not that bad, but rather lacking compared to most other IPAs.

Poured a nice orange amber hue with a white head that had nice lace and retention. Aroma had a strong pine hop profile, some lingering grapefruit notes. Caramel malts give the aroma a nice balance. Initial flavor had a hop bite, leaning more towards the grapefruit aspects then pine, but the sweet caramel malts cut right through the bitter hops giving the beer a nice balance. Finish was dry. A nice IPA. Came from the beer of the month club.

Nose of grapefuit and pine. The citrus is dank and musky though, not bright. Flavor follows nose for the most part, but less pine. Good malt in finish to provide balance. Finish is long with lingering bitterness. Overall, a nice American IPA.

12 oz. bottle from grownfool- thanks again, Brian! Pours a cloudy amber color with a two-finger, frothy, rocky beige head. Aroma of citrusy and piney hops, grapefruit, caramel malts, perfume, and potpourri. Flavor of floral and citrusy hops, tea, grapefruit and orange citrus, caramel malts, and pine resin. Light-medium bodied, with medium carbonation and a bitter, resinous mouthfeel. Lingering bitterness. Solid IPA that actually drinks kind of like a double IPA.

Wow...nice beer. Aromatic hops, off white head and heavy lacing. The mouthfeel is soft and bitter and a little sticky. I enjoy.

The Dan Journal #431. Tasted 12/14/10. 12oz bottle. Hazy and sedimented with a dark amber hue. Spotty bubbled tan head. Aromas of citrus hops and toasty malts. Medium bodied with a pleasant grapefruit hop bitterness. Solid citrus flavors and it adds to the effervescence. Subtle raisin note. Decent enough.

Thanks ScottyP for the hook up on this one. Pretty darn good little IPA. Best sessionable big IPA that Iíve had in awhile. Nice spice component. Very fresh hop flavors with a nice lingering bitterness. Decent malt balance. All in all a nice beer.
