COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lucky Bucket’s Original American IPA begins with a nice malt bill that lets the brew stand up to the mountain of hops added later. After the boil, the hot wort (the beer before it’s really beer) is fired through a hop back, a unique four-barrel stainless steel tank filled with a gratuitous amount of raw flower Amarillo, Centennial, and Cascade hops, extracting the aromatic oils and flavor of the hops. Followed with additional dry hopping in the fermenter, the end result is a big, well-balanced West Coast-style IPA with terrific hop flavor and aroma.

On draft at Twisted Fork in Omaha. Cloudy straw color with good head and sticky lacing. Smell of citrus and hops. Citrus and hop taste upfront and pine and nice malt in back. Fairly dry. Good beer on warm day. Just complex enough to be enjoyable and not too bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle pour. Cloudy orange color. Really pungent nose of citrus and flowers. Very flavorful, with citrus flavors balanced with bitter hops, and a dry finish. Excellent IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Poured pale amber with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma was tropical fruit, grapefruit, some resinous hops, some caramel. Flavor was grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, some pine and bready, caramel malt. Moderately bitter. Pretty good West Coast IPA.

Trade with Aurelius - thanks!- new state - Nebraska! -12 oz bottle. Medium copper pour, off white, thick and foamy head that leaves a thick coat of lacing. Aroma is spruce-like and resiny with a touch of floral notes. Full-bodied flavor with some initial bittersweet citrus, some minty rye and some pomegranate and apricot sweetness. Thick sticky mouthfeel with just enough spritz to keep it interesting. Duly impressed.

Foggy, orange beer with a thin tapioca head which clings to the side of the glass. Squat, California-style longneck, retro label. Floral, sweet aroma, grapefruit zest, hops and a little sulphur or egginess. Mineral front, sturdy American hopping, a little sour, fairly sweet, pineapple and grapefruit flavors. Moderate, citrus pith bitter finish. Mouthy brew with fine-grained carbonation. Not as aggressive as a lot of the IPA’s out there, more on the APA end of the spectrum. BOTM club selection for Dec 2012 - Thanks, Uncle Doug!

Hazy burnt orange, 2 finger head. Nose is fecal matter / baby diaper. Hint of oranges. Very high bitterness in the taste, very piney, resinous. Hint of tangerine peels. Interesting but not all that great.

UPDATED: MAY 16, 2013 Received from beer of the month club. Burnt orange with nice lasting head. Strong aroma of citrus and other hops. First few sips, i found the beer to be well balanced with significant dry hopped citrus flavor. A few sips later the strong bitterness flavor came through. Overall, very impressed. Represents west coast IPA’s well.

Bottle:   Dirty amber, large rocky white head, splotchy lacing.   Big sweet ruby red grapefruity citursy nose.   A bit candyish.   Sweet citrusy hops up front, not too bitter, with a bit of candyish powdered sugar background.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Pithy background, citrusy, ruby red grapefruit, candyish, powdered sugar all on the exit.   I could do without that powdered sugar as it seems too candyish, but otherwise this was a very citrusy and not too bitter IPA.   I can certainly dig it!

Pours a nice orange with white head. Nice sweet citrus and hop aromas. More citrus and bitter grapefruit flavours. Medium bodied. Very nice ipa.
