Lucky Bucket’s Original American IPA begins with a nice malt bill that lets the brew stand up to the mountain of hops added later. After the boil, the hot wort (the beer before it’s really beer) is fired through a hop back, a unique four-barrel stainless steel tank filled with a gratuitous amount of raw flower Amarillo, Centennial, and Cascade hops, extracting the aromatic oils and flavor of the hops. Followed with additional dry hopping in the fermenter, the end result is a big, well-balanced West Coast-style IPA with terrific hop flavor and aroma.

Pours clear copper with an off white head, nice lacing. Aroma is earthy, citrus and floral. Taste is sweet with a nice lingering bitterness. Medium bodied with a sticky finish. Very surprised at this IPA in a good way.

Hazy orange copper with a small broken head. The aroma is great. Strong mix of orange, citrus, dank, floral notes, light pine and caramel. The flavor is lightly toasted caramel that fades into a slew of juicy American hops and extreme bitterness. A little bit of weird balance in the aftertaste. Pretty F’n hoppy, better than expected.

12 oz. bottle shared by my niece’s husband on New Year’s Day. Pours a lightly hazed burnished gold with a moderate off-white head. Pleasant aroma of grapefruit and a bit of pine. The flavor begins with some malt with a bit of caramel followed by some grapefruit and pine bitterness. Medium bodied. No problems.

A pleasant surprise in an IPA field littered with quality beverages. This one has it all: aggressive hop aroma and taste. Nice caramel color and uniform head.

On draft at Twisted Fork in Omaha. Cloudy straw color with good head and sticky lacing. Smell of citrus and hops. Citrus and hop taste upfront and pine and nice malt in back. Fairly dry. Good beer on warm day. Just complex enough to be enjoyable and not too bitter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle pour. Cloudy orange color. Really pungent nose of citrus and flowers. Very flavorful, with citrus flavors balanced with bitter hops, and a dry finish. Excellent IPA. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Poured pale amber with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma was tropical fruit, grapefruit, some resinous hops, some caramel. Flavor was grapefruit, pineapple, tangerine, some pine and bready, caramel malt. Moderately bitter. Pretty good West Coast IPA.

Trade with Aurelius - thanks!- new state - Nebraska! -12 oz bottle. Medium copper pour, off white, thick and foamy head that leaves a thick coat of lacing. Aroma is spruce-like and resiny with a touch of floral notes. Full-bodied flavor with some initial bittersweet citrus, some minty rye and some pomegranate and apricot sweetness. Thick sticky mouthfeel with just enough spritz to keep it interesting. Duly impressed.

Foggy, orange beer with a thin tapioca head which clings to the side of the glass. Squat, California-style longneck, retro label. Floral, sweet aroma, grapefruit zest, hops and a little sulphur or egginess. Mineral front, sturdy American hopping, a little sour, fairly sweet, pineapple and grapefruit flavors. Moderate, citrus pith bitter finish. Mouthy brew with fine-grained carbonation. Not as aggressive as a lot of the IPA’s out there, more on the APA end of the spectrum. BOTM club selection for Dec 2012 - Thanks, Uncle Doug!

Hazy burnt orange, 2 finger head. Nose is fecal matter / baby diaper. Hint of oranges. Very high bitterness in the taste, very piney, resinous. Hint of tangerine peels. Interesting but not all that great.
