Lucky Bucket’s Original American IPA begins with a nice malt bill that lets the brew stand up to the mountain of hops added later. After the boil, the hot wort (the beer before it’s really beer) is fired through a hop back, a unique four-barrel stainless steel tank filled with a gratuitous amount of raw flower Amarillo, Centennial, and Cascade hops, extracting the aromatic oils and flavor of the hops. Followed with additional dry hopping in the fermenter, the end result is a big, well-balanced West Coast-style IPA with terrific hop flavor and aroma.

Hazy orange copper with a small broken head. The aroma is great. Strong mix of orange, citrus, dank, floral notes, light pine and caramel. The flavor is lightly toasted caramel that fades into a slew of juicy American hops and extreme bitterness. A little bit of weird balance in the aftertaste. Pretty F’n hoppy, better than expected.

Moderate balance of fruity and bitter hop aroma. Slight malty aroma. Thin head retention with a brilliant copper color. Flavor balance of malty sweet, Hop bitter and citrus. Medium body and carbonation. Overall a solid IPA.

Hazy orange pour. Initial notes of citrus. You can tell this has a nice blend of hops, and the finish is rather smooth for an IPA.

12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Pours hazy, orange in color; small off white head and some lacing. Aroma of grapefruit, pine and caramel. Taste is bitter and hoppy, some citrus fruit balanced with malts. Solid IPA, very impressive.

Pleasant well balanced IPA. Nice copper colour, but no appreciable head. Good hop flavor but bottle was served so cold that the malt profile was lost. Definitely a keeper.

Thanks to trade with huskertan! Pours a clear golden brown from the bottle with minimal white head that leaves moderate lace, filtered. Aroma of big resinous citrus and floral hops with good caramel malt back end. Taste follows, good balance, nice hop presence, bittersweet finish. Quick finish, clean and easy, moderate carbonation, solid, but nothing special.

12oz bottle. Pours clear gold with tiny ring head. Aroma of pine needles, sugary citrus and grass. Taste is the same with nice bitter finish. Lots of fresh sappy spruce.

355ml bottle (thanks Anna’s cool dad). Clear dark amber color. Huge size, beige head, stays. Looks nice. Pine needles, fruity, citrusy, spurce in aroma. Pine needles, sweet, grainy, fruity, citrusy taste. Fruity pine in aftertaste. Nice and mellow. Medium bitterness. Good balance and very drinkable. Very nice brew.

355ml bottle (Beertopia, Nebraska) - thanks Frank!
Massively sharp lemony citrus aroma. Some pine needles and spruciness later. Sweet caramelly malts. Lots of pine needles, tons of citrus, and some sherbert in the taste, alas some floor-cleaner aspects to those hops too. Some soapiness in the finish, and more pine. Nice full palate, pleasant carbonation. Fairly solid IPA, but a little soapy and a little sweet.
