3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Transfer from BA review on 8-6-12 -
Poured from bottle into pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours an orange/ amber color with a one finger off white head. The head faded over a moderate amount of time to give a light amount of lacing.
Smell – The aroma was heavy of grain and bread. It has a big biscuit and dark wheat bread smell. Mixed with these aromas are notes of light caramel and some floral and earthy hop.
Taste – The taste begins big of a biscuit and caramel sweet flavor. As it advances some flavors of wheat and earthy hop meet the tongue. These flavors overall create a smooth taste and take the flavor to the end where they are met with a very light floral and pine hop which when combine with the caramel and biscuit take the taste to the end where they leave a nice slightly bitter flavor to linger on the tongue..
Mouthfeel –The body of the beer is on the lighter side with a slightly higher then average carbonation level. The higher carbonation makes for a good refreshing beer.
Overall – A easy drinking fairly nice flavor profile makes for a decent session beer. Not bad, but nothing to go out of your way for.

12 oz bottle purchased at the brewery, poured into a pint glass at home. Light bronze, clear appearance with a frothy, lasting white head, looks good. Aroma of toasted grains, bready malts, earthy hops and light caramel. Similar flavor, mildly sweet and lightly bitter, easy to drink. Medium body, creamy feel with average carbonation. Pretty good for a lager.

1.7 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 4/20
UPDATED: MAY 10, 2014 Definitely a letdown. While it’s ordinarily futile to have high expectations for these types of beer, they still can be fun. Sadly, this one didn’t have a lot to offer. The taste is even enough, but it’s underwhelming. This beer claims to have a lot of hops but they’re positively tame on the tongue and virtually nonexistent in the aroma. If you want to enjoy a "Pre-Prohibition Lager," Coors does it better with Batch 19. It pains me to say that about a beer from my home state, but there it is.
