COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Lucky Bucket Pre‐Prohibition Lager has an updated craft brewerís twist as its signature: itís dry‐hopped with a fresh blend of aromatic hops. The dry hopping schedule is a unique hop mix that was derived from numerous tests and private samplings. The resulting blend includes aromatic Cascade, Centennial and Amarillo hops.

Draft at GABF. I was very excited when I saw this one, just because you donít see many pre-pro lagers out there. Pours a gold with stiff white head. Nose is vegetal, cabbage and maize. Some faint herbal hop notes come through, but the DMS is a bit offputting. On tasting, itís a bit cleaner, but still vegetal with maize being a driving component. Bitterness works but the hops that they are proud of seems really restrained. I dunno, maybe a bad batch?

Brassy copper body with a thin, but firm head. feint sawdust grain nose. Fruity body with a distinct punchy component.

Gold body that has a slight haze to it. Average sized whitye head that falls quickly. Light malt aroma, sweet corn and faint hops. A watery palate delivers a brew with little flavor. Some sourness. Effervescent.

On tap at Beertopia. Pour is clear amber with a big white head and great lacing. Cereal, grainy, bready, corny, grassy aroma. Taste is plain lager, light grassy, bread, biscuit, cereal, husky, and grainy. Light body with high carbonation. Bleh.

Bottle. Grainy malt and lactic aroma. Amber with a moderate off-white head. Grainy malt, lactic sour, and light bitter flavor. Not really all that pleasant. Light body and carbonation.

Bottle, Beer of the Month Club. Clear dark amber with a minimal white head. Lagerish aroma: Some orange, some grain, some wet grass and faint caramel. Orange bitterness but rather soft. Light body, fairly carbonated, soft, bitter finish. OK.

12 oz bottle purchased at the brewery, poured into a pint glass at home. Light bronze, clear appearance with a frothy, lasting white head, looks good. Aroma of toasted grains, bready malts, earthy hops and light caramel. Similar flavor, mildly sweet and lightly bitter, easy to drink. Medium body, creamy feel with average carbonation. Pretty good for a lager.

Dark copper, off white cover. Aroma is corny, a bit of tin, caramel sweetness. The taste is sweeter, candy, caramel, light malt husks, a bit of corn.

12oz. bottle. Hey,my Dadís catching on, heís putting stuff like this in his fridge. Iíve learned that Pre-Pro beers were first to use corn as an adjunct, but this one is all malt. And the malt shows up in the nose and taste. Light brown color of a Pre-Pilsener, too, reminded me of a Yuengling. Full on malt taste, with the spice of mainly German hops, followed by those piny American types. I may be rating this higher than others, but I think this is a fine "common" lager with no flaws.

[Bottle] Pours a clear orange color with a nice cap of beige head. Sweet molasses and caramel nose. Some grainy notes in there as well. Moderately malty taste includes a bit of citrus and mild hoppy finish. Light metal, but overall it tasted pretty clean. Average mouthfeel/palate. I didnít think this was too bad. I actually think it would make a good transition beer for people that arenít into craft beer.
