Pours a transparent copper orange with an airy, spotty-lacing white head. Aroma boasts plenty of fresh piny grapefruity hops with a lightly sweet caramel malty balance. Body starts with a good light caramel sweetness and smooth bittering grapefruity flavor hops toward a mildly warming peppery yeasty finish.

Bomber, purchase when I was there on New Years Eve with bikesandbeer and his gf. Its been a while and about time to open this since Kevin has a bottle of his own. Pours a dark orange with a 1 finger tan head. Nose is pretty nicely hoppy, with some resin in the nose. Taste is pretty nicely hoppy, with some citrus and a bit of a bitter bite. Not a bad DIPA, but takes a lot to impress me on this front.

Half pint on tap at Lucky Lab Public House. Aroma is fruity, floral, and sweet with hints of berries and lightly vinous. Quaffable stuff. Definitely more of a barleywine-like aroma. Mostly transparent amber body with some orange hues and a nice creamy off-yellow head. Chewy sticky caramel malt flavors to start. Becomes a little roasted and a little more vinous in the middle. Finishes with mild ethanol and a pretty piney and grapefruity hoppiness. Somewhat reminiscent of Bigfoot, without it intense hoppiness. This is nice stuff, and very drinkable. It is definitely much more of a barleywine than an IIPA.

Draught at brewpub. Grapefruit to some extent. Super malty and high ABV. Very intense. Enjoyable.

This is probably a double version of their super dog, I was unsure if I should call this an IIPA or a american strong ale, but oh well. Pours cloudy orange/amber with a big bubbly white head that fell fast. Very citrusy/pine aroma, massive grapefruit character to the hops. This beer didn’t have a whole lot of sweetness up front, more focused on the grapefruit flavor. Overall I wasn’t blown away with this beer as an imperial IPA, although it had a lot of grapefruit character, it didn’t really have enough other hop flavor, more just tasted like alcoholic grapefruit juice, very bitter and almost tricked your mind into thinking it was sour. I think it would have been nice if they had dryhopped it with another type of hops that gave it another edge.

Wow! This beer screams hops from the first pour to the last. Thick resinous nose and flavor with high alpha citrus fruitiness. Earthy and chewy is this IPA lover’s dream come true.
