Dark black-blood red body with creamy chocolate cover. Mildly roasty nose with some funky wheat. Immensely wheaty body grates against the roast barley. Sharp roast notes are smoothed out. Doesn’t quite work for me.

Draught. Poured Black with thick beige head. Much lacing. Was too cold, faint malty aroma. Wheaty flavour, some maltiness. Light malty finish. Again, the lines were too cold.

Pours really black with peripheral bubbles. Mild coffee aroma. Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is smooth burnt malt and a coffee note. Finishes clean and smoothly toasty. Excellent, and not at all heavy.

On tap at BrewPub Portland OR Under the name SlabTown Wheat Stout. Pours out a dark brown almost black topped with a cream brown head. Aroma of sweet chocolate and toast malt. A little coffee but not much. Tast more of the sweetness lots of chocolate and a little bitterness.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap @ Their Beer Hall... Poured an opaque, deep brown with a beige head. Roasted aroma of oat-like malts and a little coffee. Rich, roasted malts and dark chocolates. The sugary sweet undertone masked any hop or alcohol bitterness. Smoked qualities and a tiny bit of hops in the finish.

Draft at brewpub. Not quite black with light brown fluffy head. Lovely mix of chocolate, dark raspberry and a lightly bitter finish. A bit light maybe, but perfect for a nice weather day if you want a stout. Lovely.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at the Lab in NW Portland, OR--Poured a dark brown-black body with a small off-white head. Interesting blend of wheat and chocolate notes. Roasted, milky, and grainy. Like most LL beers, this one finished with a hop bitterness and tart yeastiness.

Smells a bit weird, like some rye or milk, and a lot like a loaf of bread which is still baking... you know the smell of the yeast and flour and whatever spices are used? It smelled like that. Tastes fairly normal, spot on for a dry/Irish stout, with a bit more of a milk stout feel at times. Smooth, toasty, dry, milky, with charred grains and toast flavors everywhere. Good, but still a bit weird. Has the typical tan/beige head and a dark, almost black body.
