UPDATED: MAY 11, 2014 500ml bottle at home. Pours promising enough with a nice auburn colour, and great head. But hops seem a bit thin on the ground.. tried grasping for malts but they seemed to dissipate like a beer mirage. If only I could get some of the tasty sounding stuff everyone else described below.

Bottle for Christmas. Cloudy light brown, patchy head. Hoppy, fruitcake aroma, not strong. Nice strong bittersweet taste, some ginger, some sultanas, some grapefruit. Nicely balanced. Very good.

Another of Octo’s ’sharing’ bottles. Had a couple of sips, rolled over and went back to sleep. Gleaming bronze beneath a piled, subsiding foam. Good malty, stewed aroma with tea leaf, shortbread, mown grass, celery and orange wine gum impressions. Excellent creamy malt on the palate lingering like cashew; sensible juicy orange hop, more tea, toast, pear and caramel-on-slate smoothness. Good stuff- crystal malt used sparingly, where it belongs.

Hand pulled at the Great Western, Wolverhampton. A nice, smooth Bitter. A bit of roast, with a slight grain dryness. Good balance.
