Bottle looks simple, but good, the beer in the glass also. Nice head. Starts quite spicy, a bit sourish in the background, modest dry. Well balanced finish, still nicely spicy, quite drinkable. A good one!
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 ClubGonzo (2764) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAR 15, 2010
Bottle. Pours a pilsner-style body; light orange with a dense, quick white head. Nose is very pleasant, with light malts, some hop and bread notes in an interesting mix. Taste is also good: lots of slightly fruity hops and malty honey flavors coming forth. A bit short on the aftertaste, but a very pleasant and drinkable "ür-brau" all in all.

(bottle) Clear, deep golden to light amber colour with a nice, slowly lacing, slightly off-white foamy head. Moderately sweet cara-malty nose with hints of toffee and shy herbal hops. Strawy, cara-malty taste with sour dough and light notes of honey; sweet and doughy malt-accented finish with shy traces of herbal hops. Drinkable Landbier, formerly originated in Dachau (25.01.08)

(50 cl bottle) As far as I could see my beer was only called "Ludwig Thoma Bier Urbräu" but it has to be the same, was also labeled 5.1% ABV. Clear golden color, white head. Sweet and malty scent. Acidic and grainy malty taste with a metallic aftertaste. Spritzy mouthfeel, low bitterness.
3.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 StewardofGondor (1934) - Washington Heights - Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA - APR 26, 2006
Tap. Transparent and pale copper in color with a booming frothy, khaki orange tinted head. Encouraging aromatic introduction of stamped pecans, pralines, cinnamon, copper kettles and wet cardboard. Spritsy and cool as it moves past the lips, uniting flavors of orange toffee and tree bark. Very crisp, almost abrasively so, with copper, margarine and caramel berating the sensories with a steel-like twang. Over-carbonated with a numbing feel and a waxy overlay across the mouth top. Melted toffee and squishy butter pecans come out for the finish, and they leave behind a distressing aftertaste reminiscent of a good ol’ lick of the flagpole.
