Gold Medal Winner at the 2007 Great American Beer Festival. This German style wheat beer is refreshing, lightly hopped, unfiltered, yeasty, highly effervescent, slightly sour with a flavor and aroma suggestive of cloves and bananas.

Pours a light orange color with a citrus fruit aroma. Taste of apricot, peaches, and cloves within this beer. Light and refreshing beer, with a banana flavored aftertaste.

On tap. Dark golden color with one finger head. Clove aroma. The taste has clove too, but it is weak. Not a fan for the style.

Bottle from Costco. Hazy golden copper with lasting head and lace. Aroma is heavy cloves and light banana and bubble gum. Medium to heavy peachy fruity sweetness with wheaty tang and spicy minerally bitterness. Medium body creamy. A little heavier and sweeter than I like my hefes, but fairly authentic. Not bad.

On tap @ Lumberyard. Slightly hazed golden pour with a white head. A lot of banana and bready malt. Mild tang and a bunch of clove. Flavor is kind of sweet and candy like. A ton of taffy and cotton candy. Some bread, orange peel, and cloves. Slight bread. Okay.

Bubble gum and vanilla and a somewhat cloying sweetness is a bit over powering. Would prefer more wheat less of the bubble gum.

Smells a bit wheaty and a bit fruity but not banana or too strong. A medium cloudiness. The flavor is definitely a bit on the heavy wheat side and the finish is too much also. Also, as the last beer after a long night at the Bruery, I am completely done.
