On tap at the source. Pours mahogany in color with tiny matrix lines of steady carbonation rising to the surface. Smells of appleseeds and sweet malts. Tastes of caramel, wet oak, oats, and cider. The apple notes are a bit distracting, but make this a distinct offering.

Bomber poured a clear reddish amber with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of caramel, toffee, sherry, light bourbon and light dried fruit. Palate was medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of toffee, sherry, oak and light fruitiness with a smooth lingering toffee finish.

Green waxed 22oz bomber courtesy of dschiller, thanks Dave. It pours with a deep copper body with thin gold edges and supporting a thin off white head of foam. The aroma offers up some pine and modest resiny hop bitterness followed by smooth sweet bourbon booze. Nice. The taste has modest smooth bourbon booze and getting more boozy to midway where resiny pine hops come to the surface as well as a mild level of sweet apple and raisin like esters. This has a nice balance between the beer notes and barrel notes.

Draft at the brewpub, served in a tulip. Pours an amber hue, cloudy and nutty in the middle and brighter on the edges, with an off-white head that leaves uneven lace. Aroma of vanilla, butterscotch, dates, oak, candy apples, and a hint of pine. Flavor of resinous hops underneath all the sweetness; caramel, dates, oak, vanilla, and plum. Medium-bodied, with a sweet, woody, resinous mouthfeel that ends with boozy bitterness. A little messy but overall interesting.

Brown pour, tan head. Aroma of bourbon, toffee, caramel malt, oak and an odd vegetal, apply note. Flavor is fairly smooth a good balance of hops and sweetness, but Nick is right...the apple notes are a bit odd.

Pours a clear, reddish brown color w/ some good foam. Lots of sweet carame & toffee flavors. Can definitely taste the bourbon notes & get some nice vanilla in there, as well. A decent hop balance, but a sweet barleywine overall. A really nice surprise & solid beer!
