Poured a caramel copper murky color with 1-2 fingers of khaki-white head, which went away rather quickly. Minimal foggy lacing on the sides. Average-to-below average retention all the way down.
Smelled dark fruits, including plum, figs and dates. Also caramel and toffee malts and roasty nuts.
Tasted pretty similar to the nose with a bit more maltier feel. Plum, figs, dates, nuts, toast, caramel and toffee.
Medium body. Oily texture. Soft carbonation. Abrupt finish.
Pretty good beer for my second try from Lumberyard. I’m still new on the ESB’s, but I would have it again.

Clear, reddish amber with a small head. Yeasty aroma, with malt, grass, and wood. Taste is bright, of sharp yeast fading to a sweeter malt, with a bit of a hops bite. Lingering grassy yeast. Not bad.

A thin caramel to the aroma. This is light and smooth but with enough caramel. An easy finish. Very sessionable.
2.9 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 Caytinator (595) - Tucson, Arizona, USA - APR 21, 2013
Half pint on tap. Clear amber color, small head. Taste is good but their imperial red is better in almost every way. Bitter and burnt are the two prary tastes, with not enough malts to balance. Forgettable. Mediocre, I’d pass.

Clear amber color out of the bottle with a quickly vanishing khaki head. Light malty nose. Sweet beer with lots of caramel and some table sugar. Notes of marmalade on toast. Some orange juice in the finish. Okay beer.

Aah, whatever; it tastes like a homebrew. It has a nice and subtle sweetness: a slightly nutty ale, however, with nothing to boast. The aroma is safe. I bet if I chopped some trees in a forest, I might really enjoy it. Hm. So, typical. If anything, the appearance has some very nice and sparkly lacing -- tilt your glass to the left and then to the right, etc. It doesn’t happen with all beers. Maybe I should drink this beer some more...
