10th Rating! Can from Sun Devil. Pours a bright amber color with a frothy off-white head. Smells of cereal and apple sauce -- definitely Motts. Tastes of both with an added note of caramel. Nice, but the cider quality is pretty unexpected.

The best red ale I’ve ever had. Perfect balance, good hop nose. Perfect body, great mash profile and fermentation. Teriffic mouth feel, finishes clean and leaves you wanting more. Have had this in the pub and in the can and both are terrific.

On tap; poured a deep orange-caramel, with not much head. Aroma of red malt, caramel, orange and earth. Flavor wasn’t quite as good. A bit blander. Caramel and earth.

on tap at papago 6/10/10 and lumberyard 7/6/10. amber orange brown colored pour with an off whitish head and drippy trails of lace. it mostly smells of caramel... lesser notes of spice, light pine and orange. the flavor is also caramel malt forward... apple juice, toasted nuts, toast, citrus and grass (much more so in flag) show up as well. it is a bit sweeter than the hops allow. medium body with an otherwise crisp body. 6/3/6/3/14/3.2

Tasted 6/14/10. 22oz bomber. "Sawtooth Series" brewed by Beaver Street Brewing Co. Small necker that reads Imperial Red. Pours filtered with an amber hue. Spiraling ring of off-white head. Aromas of super bright hops and doughy yeast notes. Citrus with an emphasis on the grapefruit. Nice fresh nose. Medium bodied with a hop dominant body. Smooth initial malts with a bready note that is quickly overwhelmed by the grassy grapefruit hops. The finish is a mix of bitter hops and a subtle underlying sweetness. This tastes a lot bigger than 5.8%! Very nicely done!

On tap at the AZ Strong Beer Fest. Deep amber with a foamy head. Toasty sweet caramel malt and citrusy hops balance pretty nicely. A good all around brew.

On tap at the 2010 AZ Strong Beer Festival – billed as an Imperial Red so hopefully this is the right listing. Pours clear dark amber with a light tan head. The nose is fresh hops and caramel. The taste is sweet citrus, malt and tart grapefruit. Medium bodied. Good Red.
