Very blunt hops, nice bitterness, alcohol is there a bit, seems stronger than the abv would suggest.

Draft on tap at the brewpub (Villa Park, IL). Pours a nice glowing copper amber hue, a bit more sunny of the edges, quite reddish with a nice healthy frothy tan or offwhite head atop. Thicker film, dies down. Aromas are a decent dose of citrusy grapefruit, lemon, florals. Touches of grass, gentle spice, and some touches of pale malts, bread, and faint toast. Initial is medium bodied, offering a healthy dose of fruity citrus hops, lots of grapefuit and rind, touches of lemon, florals, grass. The hops grow, middle shows dry bitter hops, touches of bread and biscuits. A touch of melon, more lemon, and a decent biscuity pale malts quality gives a touch of body into the finish. Overall, a pretty pleasant (though not a hop screamer) type of IPA. Solid in everyway, fairly fresh. Tasty.

This IPA is one of my favorites. It is mild in aroma and taste and not overly engineered in any respect. The aroma is hoppy, giving the drinker a clear indication that this ale is an IPA but sensitive enough to not give anything else away until the first sip. The head is not too frothy but never calms down completely. The palate is extremely smooth and never leaves a bitter aftertaste. The brew’s abv is over 6%, but one would never suspect it given the brew’s smoothness. This one can be enjoyed over the span of hours without becoming boring or tedious.

Cask version at Night of the Living Ales 2010. I am a lazy bastard and really happy to get to try some of our suburban brewpubs at the festival. Cloudy orange. Sweet oranges and citrus in the nose which is also mildly earthy. Medium dry and medium bodied. Resinous and earthy bitterness in the finish is possibly a little too strong.

A well hopped, semi bitter noticeably floral IPA. Clear coppper, partly cloudy with a wonderful nose. I know a good IPA when I taste one. piney with some forest floor coming forward out of the aroma. Not too dry, alcohol is noticeable toward the end. Great beer!

On tap @ Lunar. Pours a dark orange with a sudsy white head. Big hop aroma of pine and citrus with a malty undertone. Taste similar, nice malt in there, but is mostly on the bitter side, especially on the finish. All in all, a solid IPA.

Cask @ Day of the Living Ales. Pours copper with a thin white head. Aroma of pine, citrus, and floral hops. Hops dominate the flavor. Very dry and bitter finish. Well done.

On tap at Lunar Brewing. Pours a dark orange with a foamy off-white head. Aroma is of subdued hops, pine, caramel, and malt. Taste starts off with lots of pine, hops, and citrus. It evens itself out with a nice backbone of caramel malt. The hops are subded in the aroma and flavor, but they present themselves full force in the finish. Body is light, and very drinkable. A little too malty for my tastes, but different. Doesn’t take like most average IPAs, but it is very good.

On tap at Lunar Brewing Co. Darker amber color & more clarified than previous batches. Medium, white head with lots of clingy lace. Strong pine, citrus, a touch of floral- earthiness, commingled with an equally powerful hop dryness in both aroma & taste. The dry/bitter finish solidifies this as a hop hound’s delight!
