Lundetangen Sommerøl (Summer Beer) is bright and light like a vacation day on the fjord with old Lundetangen, and is specially brewed and well lagered to satisfy your discriminating palate.

UPDATED: JUL 12, 2010 Pours a golden pale lager body with a fluffy and rather persistent white head. Smell is veggies and light malts, but fortunately this is not so bad in the taste. Moderately hopped, with a lasting bitterness against pilsener malts and grains. Still hints of overcooked veggies lingering around mid-palate, but not too imposing. Fresh and drinkable, Lundetangen Sommerøl is among the best of the Norwegian summer seasonals I’ve had so far.

500 ml can. Bright yellow golden colour. Crystal clear. Throws a tall white fluffy head with coarse bubbles at the edges. Refreshing citrusy hop aroma. Notes of freshly mowed grass. Light crisp malt flavours. Subdued hop character, except a little bite at the front. Hops remind me of Perle. Light-bodied, and unoffensive. Very similar to a kölsch in fact.

Canned, from a trade with Cunningham. Golden beer with an airy white head. Malty bready aroma, sweetish and with some dough. Malty bready flavor, dough, spices, fruity notes. Thin but still rather clean. Malty bready finish with grass notes.

Huge white creamy head with some bubbles. Lasts quite well. Very pale yellow body. Hardly any aroma, except a faint whiff of grain and some very faint hops. Taste is clean, faintly acidic malts, with traces of apple and grain. Faintly bitter, watery aftertaste. Well. It’s a "summer beer", and while it’s not a total disgrace it’s not really very exciting, either. (0.5l can.)

Very decent for a norwegian summer beer. lundetangen has a grassy fruit-feel to it that distinguish them from many other "grillbeers".
