3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 JorisPPattyn (6428) - Antwerpen, BELGIUM - MAR 31, 2005
Very effervescent carbonation to good, dense, faint yellow head; clear golden beer. Initially very grainy nose, taken over by dry, dusty hops, even a bit cheesy. Hopcharacter dominating. Excellent hoppy pils, just getting sweetish for a second, to end bitter-hoppy, a bit cheesy and a bit British (no, that’s not really the same). Well bodied for a pils. Not fizzy despite the high carbonation. Superb pils, truly excellent in its class. Nils Oscar is one hell of a brewery to me.

UPDATED: APR 5, 2005 Keg @ The Ardbeg Room, Stockholm Disappointed. The house taste from their own malts is too dominant and gives a taste of cooked veggies. A bit harsh and missing in the normal flowery hoppiness. I hope they haven’t changed the recipe. Needs a rerate. 4/4/4/3/7 2.2 RERATE: Keg, unfitered @ Östgötakällaren, Stockholm Backlog 30 May, 2005 About the only place to find this beer unfiltered on tap in Stockholm. Slightly hazy. Malty fresh aroma with almost a hint of wheat. Good aftertaste with medium bitterness

Golden yello with a white head. Has a very nice aroma of sweetnes and elder. Has a smooth taste. Elder is also in the taste. Perfect balanced pils. Not so malty and bitter. Thats what I like with this one! This is a pilsner with quality! Great pils to make it 100 on ratebeer!

Pale gold body topped with a thin bubbly head. Average hoppy aroma with light flowery notes. Unidimensional hoppy taste with decent bitter finish. That lager is relatively tasty but lacks personality. I was sincerely expecting a bit more...

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 sayravai (4526) - Helsinki, FINLAND - OCT 30, 2004
UPDATED: JUN 7, 2006 (Bottled) Clear golden color with a medium, mostly vanishing head. Hoppy, buttery and slightly sour aroma with smooth maltiness and hints of grapefruit. Quite aromatic-hoppy, flowery flavor with smooth malt and sugary toffee hints. Medium-bodied, smooth, but slightly fizzy-carbonated palate. A very nice, refreshing and quite aromatic-hoppy lager.
