Aroma: caramel, strawberry, raisins, roasted. A bit unbalanced in taste. Too light. Hazy appearance with light head. Palate is light and harsch with fizzy carbonation. Overall too light.

Dubbel launched in 2009 by a sympathetic beer company that unfortunately ceased to exist meanwhile. Off-white head, cloudy bronze colour. Aroma of nutmeg, caramel, bitter chocolate, walnuts, cinnamon, coriander. Sweetish onset, dried fruits, quickly moving away for a coriander-like spiciness on top of a rounded, caramelly and nutty malt base, in the end even slightly roasted, some grassy hops; in all, quite dry for a dubbel, a bit too dry to my taste.

Aroma has earthy notes, some wood and souris cherries. Flavour is somewhat tart and sour with oak, some earthy notes, berries, some cherries, hints of caramel and toffee. These oud bruin ‐style beers are just not my thing.

Bottle, bought @ Bier Tempel, Brussels.
Clear deep ruby red with a fine, staying, creamy, off-white head. Aroma has sweet caramel malts, flowers, red apples, plums and nectarines. Medium to high carbonation, fine light and mild mouthfeel. Flavour is mild, sweet, caramelly, light metal notes, good dried fruit and red apples. Quite dry and mild bitter finish. Okay beer.

Bottle shared at my house by jtclockwork, thanks James. Poured a murky orange /brown with a very full foamy beige head. Aroma of earth, caramel, alcohol, molasses and chocolate. Palate is medium with a fizzy mouthfeel. Flavor is a step down from the aroma, earth, very light hint of chocolate and some bread. Meh it’s okay.
