4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottled from local Mitra. Clear dark brown color, thick creamy brown head. Aroma of spicy belgian yeast, red fruit like grapes and cherry, raisin, grapes. Some biscuit and cookie as well. Taste is quite sweet, but also dry. Again I get a lot of cookie maltiness and raisins, like in the best of the Abt beers. I suspect loads of special B malt. Finishes slightly bitter even. Soft alcohol burn, but very well hidden. This is seriously a great brew in tradition of the best of dark belgian strong ales. Top notch.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle 33 cl, BBE 01.03.2014. Pours clear dark brown in color with massive tan head. Dark fruits, malty sweetness, light roasted notes. Dark fruits and slightly sweet malty notes in taste as well. Quite sophisticated brew. Smooth and easy to drink. One of the better dubbels I’ve tasted. Pleasant sligthly roasted notes with some nuttyness and even a bit of a spicy bite in aftertaste. Wow, this beer offers new elements every now and then, even some dark chocolate in finish and perhaps some licorice too.
