Dark brown bordeaux-coloured beer with a firm broken-white head. The aroma is pleasant, with some pear and roasted nuts. The palate is nutty, with some chocolate impressions followed by exotic fruit. This beer with strong character has a beautiful finish with some bitter hop and caramel.

Looks great, nearly pitch black with a foam head that lasts. Carbonation is OK too, medium body. Taste is roast at first but then followed by cough drop and caramel. Metallic comes in and takes over the finish. Couldn’t convince me.

Een bier met niet zoveel smaak aan. Dan is de Wolf 7 voor mij een lekkerder bier.

Tasty Belgian dark beer. Malty and yeasty body of course, with nice smooth notes of fruits, I think I tasted pear.

Bottle from Rehills, Newcastle. This beer explodes out of the bottle with a huge creamy head of foam. Dark Mahogany coloured with very rich red fruit and burnt currant flavours, chocolate and coffee notes with a bitter-sweet oak and roasted finish. Excellent!

Bottle at home. Red to brown with frothy tan head. When cold the alcohol came up front, better when at a proper temperature where it tasted balanced and sweet with a hint of caramel. Slightly bitter but would not think much about that. Enjoyable Belgian ale, enhanced chili/paprika dishes well.

Bottle from the Bierschuur in Poppel. The beer has dark brown color and a nice cream colored head with a lot of bubbles. In the aroma are tones noticable of pears, nuts, coffee and a little alcohol. The taste is a little bitter by the tones of chocolate and the nuts from the aroma. Later a little sweetness is noticable from the fruits which were also noticable in the aroma. The finish is a little hoppy and bitter and a little caramel is noticable. Not complety impressed by this strong ale, but it’s an oke beer.
